Pretty impactful player by those numbers. I also heard Baugh may not be playing due to focusing on softball, but that was just a rumor. I haven't asked her personally. Looks like that would be a big blow as well. Can anyone confirm that?

I believe she's playing in the team camp today with HHS. And I know for sure that the HHS coaches would not even think about playing her if it wasn't cleared or they hadn't received approval from the HHS executive administration that it was okay to proceed.

Not arguing with you RC especially because you know the inner workings at HHS, but as you know we went through this last summer and we were told that during June school ball technically a player can play for whomever they want..because i can guarantee you that eventhough she maybe already enrolled at HHS theres no way her eligibility has been ruled on yet by the KHSAA...we started the process in May of last year and the ruling didnt come down till August. I understood the move from Grant to NDA...was told by her father that it was for academics....do I believe that? probably NOT...Because if that was the case why make another move? Regardless, you are right she will make an impact. And i will say this with absolutely no animosity against Jenna or her family, I dont see them (KHSSA) making her eligible unless they physically move into HHS school district, because if they dont and she is deemed eligible, that will show the hypocrisy of the KHSAA, becsuse we were told the only way my daughter would be eligible to play last season since she had already played varsity was a physical move into the school district.

Maybe she moved. I don't no. But I can tell you that HHS would not play her or invite her to practices unless they were told it was okay and felt she was eligible or would be eligible. It's not how they operate. I can tell you numerous examples of a kid wanting to come to HHS for football and they would not let them practice in the summer until they were enrolled officially. So I have no idea how they are eligible. I'm saying the administration at HHS must feel she is because they wouldn't let her patlrticipate if she wasn't. Now if the KHSAA proves something is fishy later, then so be it. But I can tell you that the administration must feel there is no issue if they are letting her participate. HHS coaches aren't even allowed to talk to kids until they are officially enrolled, let alone participate. Your reason for a delay may be different than what she's claiming. I honestly have no idea how she's eligible. I haven't been told or asked about it. I let the administration take care of it and trust that is they are letting her participate, she is enrolled and they feel she will be eligible. If there were any question about that right now, the school wouldn't let her. Like I said, that doesn't mean the KHSAA couldn't come back and say nah baby nah! I can't tell the future.

Heck, I have a sophomore daughter that may or may not start now due to this transfer. If anyone should be bitter over it, it should be me!

I know the reasons they left. Like someone else said, if she was hunting trophies, she would have gone somewhere else. HHS just lost a ton of experience. They have an outstanding incoming sophomore class, but this is probably a transition year for their program. There are plenty of teams that would be a better option if you wanted to win this year. So I have to think something was up at ND (in their opinion) and HHS was the next choice to play for a great staff and retain the level of education.

Sometimes parents and kids in programs make it not pleasurable to continue in your current condition and sometimes schools don't always make the decisions your family agrees with. When those things happen, some people choose to remove themselves from the situation.

The only thing that I can see that changed at NDA was the coach.

Tough couple of years. Apparently none of the three schools are making decisions they agree with.

Yes. And the other thing I stated was a part of it as well.

Other 3 schools?

Come on really, with her they are a legit contender I know you have to play the political game and you have very good points on your threads but 3 schools in 4 years. I think Jenna is a great young lady although I do not know her parents but I do remember her tell someone that I know she went to ND because of the catholic education. What about her teammates at ND that she has went to battle with what's that tell them. If I was HHS I would be a little leery especially after what Holy Cross went and is still going through. HHS may have checked into it but I am sure there isn't a ruling yet.

Other 3 schools?

My fault.

Other 2 schools.

I can promise you HHS is the most suspicious school there is when it comes to this. I was told by a great administrators one time "Treat every interaction parents and players as if someone is trying to trap you and follow the process to a tee!" With the perceptions of the football program, they would never have survived if they didn't look at it that way. There is no school in NKY more adept in making sure to follow the proper channels because everyone and their brother have tried and would love to take them down in foot ball and be able to say "I told you so!". There is a reason no one ever finds anything legit on the program. They follow a rigid process. Now, could the KHSAA come back and find something that rules her ineligible, maybe. But you and I have no idea how she's eligible in the first place do we? I have no idea what route they took. Some events or reasons are instant eligibility (moving into district for example). And we have no idea when they started the process and who they have discussed it with. So to say it will take a lot of time is really just an assumption. If we don't know the specific facts, then we don't have a clue how long it would take. Each situation is different. But I can honestly say I have no idea.

And even being an HHS fan, I'll hold out on predicting them as an instant contender. There is a lot that has to happen with this group to place them on that level right now. They lost a lot of leadership and dynamics of skill players that make them not very difficult to guard right now. It will be interesting to see them develop over the year. They have a ton of talent and athleticism in the pipeline, but not very many proven varsity players yet. Just my opinion.

I feel bad for her former teammates, ND look to have a pretty good team, a team who would contend for a regional title with Jenna on the floor. IMO this just seems a little fishy to me again this is just my opinion.

Wow a lot of sour grapes on this board! Welcome Ms. Martin to the birds program! I can assure you Jamie (coach) and staff will help you accomplish your goals. We are very happy to have you and wish you nothing but success moving forward.

No sour grapes, you being a HHS fan I'm sure are very happy who wouldn't be, just stating it seems a little off wouldn't you at least agree. I wish her all the best just makes people wonder.
