Jenna Martin Transferring To Highlands

Featured Replies

Not saying Jamie said anything to her not saying that at all but someone knew it was happening prier to her enrollment. Look you can twist it all you want and I again like your loyalty and a lot of what you say makes sense but this is reality and your not going to tell me that no one knew before she enrolled. Come on you have jumped all over the Holy Cross situation which is somewhat similar but now that its HHS its a lot different.

My understanding about the transfer that's at NCC is she lives with her grandma in Newport and isn't a Jenna Martin.

As for contacting the school it was about 3 weeks ago.

I never said some didn't hear rumors that it might happen. There are others rumors out there that would blow this site to pieces if it happened. But I am very close to the program and close to some players at ND and I really didn't hear a word about it til last week. And that came from a kid on the ND team that was talking to my daughter. HHS coaches hear rumors all the time. But again, until they are on our court/field, it's just rumor.

Not even close to the HC situation other than HHS got a transfer. So did NCC last year and Holmes the year before that. The difference in transfer scenarios is "How" they got there. Not that they are there. Were they influenced by the coaching staff or not. There is a huge difference there. If you are comparing it to the HC situation, then you are accusing the HHS staff of influencing her to come. And I can tell you without any doubt in my mind that did not and would not happen. Conversations with parents and kids you know and have coached their kids in the past does not mean anything was said other than what I'm telling you. I know what was said. And it follows the guidelines of what I'm telling you.

Hearing or knowing that someone may be coming is totally different than encouraging someone to come. Regardless if you're an athlete, smart kid, or just interested in going to HHS, they all follow the same process. Again, I can show you plenty of athletes that inquired and did not get in. And I can show you plenty of non-athletes that are transfers and new students that could care less about any sport. But they are in and some of the really good athletes are not. So just because one transfer gets into hhs in 10 years, that doesn't mean that's the "norm". Why aren't your talking about the band member that transferred in and got in. Or the drama student.

Maybe we should look at how your transfer got there. Because if you're comparing HHS to HC, we should probably compare NCC to HC as well. They got a transfer, correct? The issue is not "transfers". Its the "how" that goes along with that transfer.

Meant Grabel not sure how its spelled.

Who is grabel?

And you can talk about Mitchell all you want. Even if you had those facts, it was overturned I believe and HHS was awarded those wins back. Even if that was a good example, that's one time in how many years. I said there can be slip ups. But how long ago was that now and how many times has HHS been accused and had people coming after them with these accusations. Again, even if you use the Mitchell case as an example, do you realize what those percentages would come out to...the number of times accused and attacked vs the number of ANY wrong doing?

My apology Mike Mitchell and Shelby. Again not saying anything was against the rules.

Then who are the athletes that didn't get in?

I guess you know every conversation that coaches have with people.

NCC transfer is living with her grandma in Newport.

So if you know so much about conversations that were had and not had, then why is she coming there, this is your HOW?

Graybill's mother went to HHS and she started at HHS in the 6th grade. Not sure where you're going with that one. Do you know how many alums go on with their lives, move out of Ft Thomas, have kids and when the kids get close to middle school age work their way back to HHS. Heck, you're talking to one. My son just started at Moyer this year as a 5th grader and he is not anywhere near an impact athlete. I pay tuition for him and I coach there! This happens all the time and it has nothing to do with sports! Graybill was playing for HHS softball when they were lucky to win 10 games a year. Do really think she came to HHS for sports??

Then who are the athletes that didn't get in?

Nope, I don't have to know every conversation. I know the process and I know that any coach that doesn't follow the process to a tee will not be coaching at HHS. But I do know this conversation you speak of.

I'm not naming athletes that didn't get in. How would that look when their current coach finds out they tried to leave or their program wasn't the kids first choice?

And everyone follows that process to a tee right and you know that for a fact or they will no longer be a coach, if you say so.

I get ask to reveal my facts why cant you? LOL

I assume because she wanted to. I know there were things she was not happy with at ND and when the coach was let go or whatever you want to call it, that became another factor. I will leave it all at that because the point is, that it was her choice. You tell me why she would want to come to HHS. They lost a ton to graduation and I really think they are were at least a year away from getting back near the top. So its not like she's coming to a powerhouse this year or someone that is guaranteeing her a shot to get to state! So you tell me why she picked HHS. If it were for sports only, that's not the first place I would have picked with only one year of eligibility left!

And everyone follows that process to a tee right and you know that for a fact or they will no longer be a coach, if you say so.

I wasn't the one that asked you to reveal your facts. And yes, I believe in the process at HHS and I know that the administration WILL NOT tolerate someone not following that process. So if you go around the process, you know the consequences. We are all human, so thats why I would never guarantee a slip up, but they wouldn't be there long if they did.

So her grandma just moved to Newport, correct? I assume so or she would have been there the entire time if NCC was the right spot for her right? I know A LOT about the situation, so I'm not sure you want to open that can of worms. I'll drop her situation if you do!

Nothing to hide say it and how do you seem to know about ever situation?

She is going there for basketball and basketball only who are you kidding. Don't act like you don't know how she got there come on, you say you call a spade a spade unless its your beloved HHS. Look I get it and understand you love your school and you should but you know why she is there and how she got there.

I have no idea if they knew she was a bball player or not. I said "I don't know how they would know". I can tell you will all honesty that Jaime had no idea she was even coming til lat in the process. Jaime doesn't get caught up in rumors. She's a "I'll believe it when I see it" type of person. So it wouldn't have been Jaime prepping any of the administrators! I can promise you that.

As far as conversations...there are no facts. I can tell you that ANY coach (this situation included) has told any player or parent that they cannot talk to them about their program until their kid is enrolled. What people see is converstations and ASSUME what's being said. But they don't realize there may be previous relationships there OR just maybe that coach they are talking to coached that person's older daughter in the past. But I can promise you the facts are "I cannot talk to you about that subject until your daughter is enrolled at Highlands" would have and been part of that conversation if it came up. That's the facts! Do people talk, sure. What is said is the key. I know what was said. Everyone is trying to get HHS. We expect it. Thats why we are told to follow such stringent processes when it comes to this stuff.

And how soon you forget...didn't NCC just get a transfer last year that starts for them? HHS hasn't had a transfer in girls bball in 10 years!!!

As for your inquiry about your daughter, I did forget to mention. You could have been told they weren't accepting any tuition student at the time. It all depends on when you called as well. There is an open enrollment window for students that wish to apply. If you are outside that window (timeframe), there is a chance you would get told "we are not accepting applications at this time" The window is not opened very long (because they get flooded with applications) and outside of that window, I'm sure that's the answer you'd get.

So in this case......Inclusion SHOULD be driven by conditions??

Here's how I can sum this up for you. I have no idea why she chose HHS. I have no idea how she is eligible. And I don't ever agree with moving kids just for sports. I have said that 1000 times. But the reason they are choosing to move is their business and from what I have heard, it's not about sports. Of course with an athlete, you consider the program you are moving her to. But from my understanding, the move is about much more than just sports.

But I do know that the HHS staff had absolutely nothing to do with influencing her decision in any way. Did they hear rumors she might be coming, yes, late in the process. But again, if I even thought about putting the rumors I have heard about possible transfers into HHS this year, this board would explode!!! And I'm not kidding!!! HHS coaches hear rumors every year of this and that player wanting to come. The facts are, they rarely play out and it becomes like the story of the boy that cried wolf. You really just start ignoring them until you see them on your court or field and you have been give the thumbs up to instruct them. That's really how it is. Whether you or anyone wants to believe it.

Nothing to hide say it and how do you seem to know about ever situation?

Very connected within the bball coaches and I would never say everything I know because I would get kicked off the board!
