Not even close to being accurate.

I rarely watch hockey because I don't know much about the game and rules, but from what I can see they allow too much fighting to occur without doing much about it. The officials just skate around the two fighters and don't appear to attempt to stop it. And the penalties are usually lax, just a timeout in a penalty box for a while.

 

Maybe fighting is considered part of the game and something the fans like seeing, but that's crazy if it is because some of these dudes come away from their battles injured and bloodied.

College basketball. Too many fouls. After the ten minute mark of each half it seems that every possession ends in free throws.

Way down. 20 years ago teams had entire lines of enforcers whose job was to rough the other team up. With the rules changes and way the speed and skill have increased, there isn't any room on rosters for enforcers anymore. I grew up watching the Flyers, perhaps the toughest team in hockey in the 70's, 80's and 90's. They don't have a single goon on their team anymore, and while I don't watch them as much now, I didn't see a single fight this year.

This. Would love to see the men move to quarters like the women.

At high levels, I don't know that officiating would ever be the reason I didn't watch a sport. There are sports I don't watch because I don't care for them, but that has nothing to do with officiating.

People really get on NBA officials, but they are a million times better than CBB officials. I feel like half the games end up unwatchable at the college level.

I hate the flopping in soccer. Seems like every time a guy goes down, he rolls around and acts like he broke a bone. Then 15 seconds later he gets up and is fine...would drive me nuts if I watched much soccer. I love watching soccer highlights but to watch a game has way too much down time in between the great plays.

Flopping is less prevalent in the college game. Makes the games much more enjoyable.

One guy trying to cover too much field. Can't see everything that is going on. Flops look real to him because unlike real sports he is out of position.

Cherry picking, or offsides could be negated by leaving a defensive player back if you so desire.
