Obamacare sticker shock: Price hikes are on the way

 

I guess you can claim liberal media . You could claim lots of stuff . I claim Obama to be of low character and a flat out liar. He lied , intentionally , on what is very personal to all of us , our health care .

Not unexpected in any way shape or form. Go back to the original threads, it was not only predicted, it was guaranteed that costs would go up after the 2016 election.

I've had many good friends laid off in the past week thanks to Obama's healthcare system. The ones who weren't laid off were cut to 36 hours work weeks and had their salaries decreased by 10%.

Would anyone like to claim he didnt lie and defend his actions about the cost of health care ? Not whether we need universal coverage , but claim he didnt lie about the cost of health care .

Yep. In 25 years of work provided healthcare, mine has gone from me paying zero premiums to a lot. Mine has only gone up slightly over the last 5 years.

 

The problem has been the number of sick people who now have insurance who could never get it is costing insurance companies more than the premiums they are collecting from healthy people. But with costs rising, I expect more young healthy people to just punt insurance, and pay the "tax", rather than carry expensive insurance and not be able to use it because the deductible is so high.

 

It's great that people can now get insurance that never could. It's not great that insurance is becoming less useful because of expensive premiums and high deductibles. The problem is Obamacare never addressed out of control healthcare and presciption drug costs. Something needed to be done. Obamacare wasn't enough, and both sides are responsible for the mess. The Dems for forcing this through, and the Rep's for being unwilling to work on a solution.

What a mess. If you are under 30 making good money with no employer coverage why in the hell would you pay $250 a month for some crap health plan you will never use? It's only going to get worse folks.

I think he really believed what he said. I think his numbers were wrong. There is a lot of good in the program. But there is a lot that needs to be fixed, and quite frankly the system was really broken before the law passed.

Those those of us that had good plans before with reasonable deductibles and co-pays should be happy this got pushed through and we no longer have that?

Personally, my deductibles had been growing larger and larger even prior to the law being passed. And they seem to have topped out recently. I managed benefits from 2005-2010, and watched a lot people have to make the choice as to whether to keep healthcare or not due to rising costs and deductibles. I also watched a lot of people get hours cut or lose full time status over benefits. Many, if not all of the problems that people keep complaining about have been going on for years and are nothing new.

I believe I'm a female , Does that make me a liar if I have penis and claim I'm a female ? Or just does me really believing it enough to say I'm telling the truth ? Or is there a my truth and your truth ? It matters in this discussion because you seem to hint around that Obama believing it some how excuses the falsehood of the statement .

My insurance stayed relatively the same through most of 2002-2010, a few years we even would get a few pay periods at the end of the year where no Health insurance would be deducted due to savings by our insurer. Now I pay more just for insurance for my daughter than I did more my entire family back then.

 

I'm sure some people that had no insurance now have coverage but it is at the expense of the rest of us. I read once that ever person without insurance could have been insured (Without ACA) for around a 10th of what it has cost to enact the ACA. That isn't even counting the higher cost to those of us already with insurance.
