69 on board...Prayers that I wake up and this has a happy ending.

My guess is something sudden and catastrophic happened, such as an explosion. No mayday sent out or anything per TV news reports.

Egyptian Air officials say it crashed into the sea.

On going search off the coast of Greece in the Mediterranean Ses.

Lots of speculation after Greek radar confirms abrupt turns at 30+ thousand feet. Certainly not a normal maneuver for a commercial plane.

 

Sounds like an explosion, but still too early to be certain. This according to NBC.

I don't mean this as a joke, even though it may come off as one, but I have a hard time not thinking of Lost every time one of these stories happens.

I think it was just reported as an explosion on the jet.

I heard last night that airports in France had terminated 70+ employees a couple of months ago that had links to terrorism or terrorist.

With all the technology and surveillance we have in the world, kind of crazy to me that a plan can just disappear. How do they not have a tracking mechanism than can say exactly where it went down and also capture any of the activity on the plan. Some type of privacy issue or something?
