My experience with church league softball (which admittedly was a long time ago and in a different part of the country) was that the church league was very casual, and "d" level ball at best. Hitting home runs and take out slides would get you run out of the league. And you could watch a hundred games and never see a double play even attempted, let alone turned. Sounds like your league is pretty competitive.

There are minor league baseball players and everything else in the Church of God tournament in Roanoke each year. A team from Kentucky has won that event the last two years.
