Rangers/Blue Jays Brawl

Because that same slide happens almost every single game. I saw nothing dirty about it. Did the umps eject him for the slide?

MLB is actually really cracking down on this after the dude from the Pirates suffered a broken leg last season. They have really tried to clean this aspect up and by new and improved standards it was definitely a dirty slide hence why it was automatic double play.

30 years ago this was a routine slide, todays game it is dangerous and can instigate a lot of trouble.

You still think it was a legal slide? From Bautista, "I had a hard slide at second base. I could have injured [Odor, but] I chose not to," Bautista said. "I tried to send a message that I didn't appreciate getting hit [by the pitch]."

It clearly isn't within the rules, as the auto DP was called. That doesn't make it dirty. As he said, he could've hurt him, but didn't.

Bautista is lucky that one of Odor's teammates grabed him and got Bautista out of the way before Odor wordfilter violation him up.

Keep back peddling.

I'm not back-peddling. There was nothing wrong with the slide.

A catcher blocks home-plate and the runner is ruled safe as a result. The blocking of the plate is illegal, but it's not dirty. Same thing as with this slide.

I consider a slide that far past the base dirty and Bautista deserved to get punched for it. Odor is lucky he got his plant foot off the ground just before Bautista hit it.

2nd bolded....It wasn't a dangerous slide, it was clean.

I'm not with you on this one UKMF. Bautista all but admitted after the game that it was a dirty slide. I don't blame Odor for throwing a punch at him one bit after that slide. He deserves a suspension for sure, but now way that was a clean slide by Bautista.

If there was nothing wrong with the slide, then why did they deem it an illegal slide? And why is someone always a moron or rediculous for simply not agreeing with all of your opinions or viewpoints?

No question it was a dirty and illegal slide. I don't see that as being debatable. Bautista even admitted that.

Odor could've broke his jaw too, but didn't. He just sent a message, don't slide dirty into me.

Joey Bats is far from innocent here. He'll say he wasn't trying to injury Odor, but you don't intentionally slide that late without trying to hurt someone.

Sorry, but if a person thinks there is a place in baseball for intentionally throwing at players, for punching players, etc. I think they're a moron. JMO. :idunno:

As far as people agreeing with me....I think I've made it perfectly clear in the past many times over, I don't care if anyone agrees with me at all. I clearly am the only one that doesn't think the slide was dirty, and I'm cool with that.
