The idea of the game might be spicy, but the actually game will be a running clock. This hire is really bad.

This situation and a few others around the state got me thinking. What if a multi school district designated that only one of its high schools would have a football team and allowed students wishing to play football to go that school or play on the district team regardless of their district home school? I'm thinking of districts with 2-4 high schools: not those with 5+. It seems likely that with the issues facing football in our state (lack of in school coaches, lack of facilities, less participation, etc), this could produce a better experience for kids that wish to play. Is this allowed under KHSAA rules?

Has this hire been made official? I did not see any news about this in the BG Daily News web page. This hire of BGMS' head coach by one of the Purples' main rivals ought to make the game this fall between the Purples and the Dragons to be a very spicy event to witness.

 

You probably won't hear much about it. Warren Central (historically would rank up there in the premier football programs) fires 2 coaches in back to back years, then hires a middle school football coach that I'm not sure has ever coached a high school football game, after (from what I've heard) had 0 applicants for the job.

That's assuming a proper plan of action starts now IMO. Until the county makes a real commitment to addressing districting and transfer problems and the school administration stops making baffling decisions, I don't believe the clock will have started. Next year did not have to be the cataclysm that it now is. They owe how precipitous next year is almost entirely to an almost universally decried decision to fire Clay Stephens, a decision made by one Mike Stevenson, principal. Poor timing, poor decision to fire a second coach in a row after only a year, poor decision to fire a coach that had the hearts of the players. Costs support, costs players, costs them realistic applicants. BRAVO Mr. Stevenson, BRA-VO.

Why in the world would they do that? Coach Daddy could at least probably win a game or two at Central.

Officially announced today. For all the flaws of the Feggins introduction a couple of years ago, it's incredible the difference in the fanfare. A virtually empty room and essentially a closed presser.

It's hard to blame them or their parents, but it makes it that much harder to dig yourself out when this happens. It's sure going to attract a lot of players to stay or come over when they go winless or fail to field a team. Best of luck to the players though - it's a shame this situation was created that they felt they had to do that.

 

As to your earlier about three years of JV, I haven't heard that but if they did that, I have a hard time believing the program would ever return. Central needs to field a program just to hold onto athletes for other sports.
