May 6, 201610 yr Until you have pictures of young children with missing limbs, but it's whatever we are just the beacon of light and the nation of freedom. If they ignore the warning signs and still choose to violate our borders that's on them. Tell me, what other first world country has an open border with a 3rd world country?
May 7, 201610 yr Author http://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/06/donald-trumps-idea-to-cut-national-debt-get-creditors-to-accept-less.html Asked whether the United States needed to pay its debts in full, or whether he could negotiate a partial repayment, Mr. Trump told the cable network CNBC, "I would borrow, knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal." He added, "And if the economy was good, it was good. So, therefore, you can't lose." To the extent what he said is intelligible, in the event of an economic slump his fiscal policy would be to default on the debt and negotiate a lower repayment to creditors. If you aren't convinced of what a monstrously idiotic idea this is just look at Argentina's credit disaster and subsequent junk status of its debt. This can be added to the long list of what should be disqualifying policy proposals he's made. Yes, I heard Trump make the statement the other day that he LOVES debt. That thought sure flies in the face of most of the Republican Party. #RINOTrump

Even W did not win the popular vote!
May 7, 201610 yr What is Trump's platform? I should have referenced this first : Positions - Donald J Trump | Donald J Trump for President No doubt Trump is a Centrist. Liberal on some issues, conservative on others. I find support of free trade in light of its catastrophic effect on rust belt states immoral as I do use of the military for regime change or nation building.
May 7, 201610 yr Still no answer on what issue those on the Left have with stemming ILLEGAL immigration. I really doubt I will get an answer.
May 7, 201610 yr Many have spoken that there needs to be a plan to stem illegal immigration. The point in contention is what to do about illegal immigrants already in the country. Some see those as 2 different issues, so there's not much to discuss, because we all agree something needs to happen. And...you won't be open to an actual discussion of ideas, so it's not likely anyone is going to engage in your proposed topic, given the way you've phrased it.

Would you agree to this basic Immigration Platform? -Secure the Border -Pathway to citizenship or workers Visa for illegal immigrants that wish to stay in the country and contribute as part of the work force -Deportation of illegal immigrants that are violent or perpetual criminals
May 7, 201610 yr Would you agree to this basic Immigration Platform? -Secure the Border -Pathway to citizenship or workers Visa for illegal immigrants that wish to stay in the country and contribute as part of the work force -Deportation of illegal immigrants that are violent or perpetual criminals I am good with your second two. On the surface, your first point seems to be good, also. However, I'd have to see a plan before I'd be for it. Some things that I've heard I couldn't support. Also, I'd be in favor of legal immigration reform, too.

I've enumerated my thoughts on this on more than one occasion, so no need to rehash all the details. This is close enough.
May 7, 201610 yr Would you agree to this basic Immigration Platform? -Secure the Border -Pathway to citizenship or workers Visa for illegal immigrants that wish to stay in the country and contribute as part of the work force -Deportation of illegal immigrants that are violent or perpetual criminals Depending on your ideas for the first, I could be in complete agreement. I would add penalties up to and including prosecution of companies that hire illegals as a common practice as well. Some of the answers are addressing internal issues that make illegal immigration appealing. Contrary to popular belief, most are NOT criminals, most do NOT come for social aid. Most are willing to work, work hard, and work hard for low wages. And there are companies whose business model capitalizes on that.
May 7, 201610 yr Still no answer on what issue those on the Left have with stemming ILLEGAL immigration. I really doubt I will get an answer. You call it ILLEGAL immigration, they call it voter registration.

You either secure it or you don't...not sure what part of securing the border for the security of our country would be troubling. I agree on prosecuting anyone that hires illegals...As many have said, We don't need new laws just enforce the ones on the books currently.

Well, I'm not in favor of land mines, so I guess if that puts my in the camp of promoting "unsecure" borders, so be it. Dead children would be "troubling" to me.
