May 1, 201610 yr I think Trump's best choice for VP is John Boehner. He brings Ohio and he brings someone who is solid, trusted, and experienced with how to operate in Washington DC.
May 1, 201610 yr Boehner just left the climate of Washington. I can't see him going back. He only would vote for Trump over Cruz because Cruz and co. led an insurgency in the senate. I couldn't see him supporting Trump enough to run with him. Not to mention the fact that Boehner is an experienced politician who has been an institution that Big Donald is trying to destroy for decades. Would it solidify a Trump bid, yes; will it happen, nope. Trump is stuck with Carson, Palin, or Christie (whose numbers are on turrible plunge). I can't see any politician who wants to continue their career in politics lining up with Trump. Everything he says will get pinned on you as his running mate.
May 1, 201610 yr I thought we we trying to get away from the old establishment, not drag the same garbage back into the dump. I want change, real, better, skake the tree of liberty change.

May 1, 201610 yr :lol2: You laugh Rockmom, but no idea, no matter how crazy it is is out of reach in this election.
May 2, 201610 yr I think Trump needs someone that 1.) people like. 2.) will pull votes in key regions/demographics (women, latinos or OH/CA/FL) 3.) can tell the Trumpster to shut his pie hole 4.) has some experience with foreign relations 5.) isn't worried about being president someday. Not sure who that might be. Maybe a military guy. Maybe Romney (I know) or McCain (I know, again).
May 2, 201610 yr I disagree on the choice of Boehner. Trump's VP will be female, or a minority. If I were a betting man, I would say, Palin. The more I think about this though, if the GOP establishment continues to oppose him after the nomination, I could see Trump going outside the GOP for a VP choice.
May 2, 201610 yr I don't know that any established, political insider is going to be willing to hitch his/her wagon to Trump and play second fiddle to him for possibly 8 years. Especially if that person has designs on running for president in the future. Like everything else in this election year, it's going to be interesting.

She already sank the ship of one Republican candidate. Surely no one would hang that albatross around their own neck.
May 2, 201610 yr With Trumps ego, he may take on Palin just to prove he can do it while McCain couldn't.
May 2, 201610 yr I fully expect Trump to pick some random guy off the street as his running mate. Is it too late to do do a TV show, "VP Apprentice"??
May 2, 201610 yr Author With Trumps ego, he may take on Palin just to prove he can do it while McCain couldn't. People already question his judgment. That move would confirm for anyone on the fence he truly is too big a risk. If he chooses Palin, the only question in the fall is whether Hillary will surpass Ronald Reagan's margin of victory over Mondale
May 2, 201610 yr A good bet for Trump's running mate is Scott Brown, the former Massachusetts senator.
