If hes ranking at the bottom of recruiting, then how is he a great recruiter?

 

You have bashed Stoops for a while. What do you believe the solution is? Fire him and hire who? No decent coach is going to risk their career at UK if they see the school will not give the adequate time to implement their program. Keep in mind, Brooks NUMEROUS times looked as the program was backsliding but the AD was patient and it paid off. Stoops deserves the same patience. Again, is Stoops the man? Don't know but enough time has not,gone by to determine. One thing I do know, can Stoops after a five win season this year and a better coach will laugh when he gets the call about the UK job.

Yes it does, and the team is still in the crapper so what has he really done, nothing.

 

He took a team that has only on 2 games (or was it 3?) and took them to 5 wins. Now can he take them to 6 or more? Not sure yet but don't want to pull the rug out from under him till he has sufficient time to implement his way because the fact of the matter is, some other coach who we think could do it doesn't have UK ANYWHERE on their radar for future jobs.

5 wins means you are in the crapper? Two wins like when he showed up sure but 5? Nothing to pound your chest about but certainly not the crapper.

3 of the 4 non conf are very winnable (not beating UofL).

 

Franklin left Vandy, so they are beatable.

 

Has Mizzou shown improvement? If not very beatable.

 

That leaves S. Car and Prescotless MSU both at home. Can UK beat one of these two along with those above? It they can they bowl. I would say the odds are not quite 50:50 but not out of the realm either.

My guess how Stoops will be viewed based after the reg season (before bowl season)

 

0 - 2 wins = fired for sure

3 wins = probably fired

4 wins = probably not fired but extremely hot seat

5 wins = not fired but seat is warming up

6 wins = has reached the goal for the program, everyone happy and excited about direction of the program

7 wins = he is the man, some wonder if UK will reach the middle of the SEC and could compete for the weak SEC East in not too many years.

8 or more wins = not worth speculating about, NOT happening. 7 is a stretch as is.

This...I won't put a number of wins on the staff's head. Do they look prepared? Do they play hard? Can they make adjustments when things are going poorly?

 

For the last 2 years (granted the schedule gets tougher and younger players tend to wear down as the season goes) I thought UK has gotten worse as the season goes along. I am hoping for better this year. I hope they have a plan for the zone read and I hope they get lined up on defense ready to play before the ball is snapped.

I wouldn't call him a savior, but it would certainly big a giant step for mankind hah. Honestly, with the way the '17 class is shaping up a bowl game would be huge for help in holding it together as well as a good jump start for 2018 recruiting.
