April 25, 201610 yr Ehh, I'm skeptical this holds up, but either way, not a big deal. Jimmy G will do just fine if necessary. Looking at their schedule, it looked like 3-1 to start the season with Brady, and will most likely be 3-1 if he's not there.

April 25, 201610 yr This is really at the crux of it. People got lost in the events of the balls being deflated when it had little to do about that. Nope! They don't even care about the whole Deflategate thing, in fact. The judges only care about the process involved with the way the NFL and the NFLPA negotiated the discipline process. Roger Goodell is judge, jury and executioner, which is totally ridiculous, but it's the way things are set up in the CBA. The judges even called Goodell's power "unorthodox" but also called it "mutually satisfactory" because it was negotiated by the two parties.

April 25, 201610 yr I can't stand Roger Goodell. He's the worst. This was more about NFL ownership ensuring some judge can't usurp authority agreed upon by both the owners and the NFLPA. This is Union 101 type stuff. I have thought from the onset that if Goodell and the NFL's actions were misguided and unfounded, Judge Berman's determination was even more so.
