I made it to about half time. Absurd.

Makes me chuckle that his last play of his career was an assist.

Seriously, I didn't watch one minute of the game. I just wanted to fire up @PurplePride92 this morning. :lol2:

It almost worked. :lol2:

ESPN has a section to look at the top 25 of all-time in various statistical categories. Active players are listed in all caps. Kobe's name is no longer in caps. Kinda makes me sad.

And now I am crying.

I know the feeling. Sobbed uncontrollably at the end of The Doctor's last game.

Anyone else see the 6 second clip of Kobe tapping his head and I think saying "get me" with about 3:30 left in the game? Good thing they didn't go through with taking him out then.

I just can't believe he went vintage on everybody and legit made every tough shot like it was 10 years ago... Wow that was special.

Greatest in this generation by far. Top 2 All-Time. I will miss him.

Top 2 what all time?

Come on. He's not THAT much better than Duncan or Shaq. FWIW, I rank Kobe 4th-7th (of players with completed careers) after MJ, Magic, and Wilt. He's in a group with Kareem, Bill Russell and the Big O for me. I put Duncan, Shaq and Bird in the next three in some order.

MJ

Magic

Kobe

Kareem

everyone else.

I know his name doesn't get put on this list very often but I have a hard time not including Bill Russell in the top five when he has all those rings

He can be #5 and I'd put Wilt at #6.

Can't hate that list. The biggest downfall for Kobe is that of all the all-time greats, his teams were awful in a couple of years when he didn't have talent around him. Maybe MJ, Magic, Kareen, etc. would have been too, but we never saw it. A large stretch of Kobe's prime was spent on terrible squads, as he was difficult to play with for many. Had Kobe and Shaq stayed together, the narrative may read Kobe as a true 1b to MJ. It was Kobe's greatest mistake from a legacy standpoint IMO.
