Billy Hamilton

Billy Hamilton stinks. I know, it's early. But how much longer before the rest of you guys give up on him? Hard to beat decent teams playing a man short on offense. Before you talk about his overall game- can't steal bases if he can't get on base and yes, he gets to a lot of balls in CF but still has a below average arm.

 

Time to move on from Billy?

Seems like LaRussa used to do it quite a bit in St. Louis. Can't remember many others though.

Big year for him but it won't be a make/break year as far as staying with the team. His D is good enough to keep him around even if he loses his starting job.

I believe the Cubs did it pretty much all last year, or whenever Maddon's 1st season with them was.

It's a lost year regardless in terms of competing, and they don't have a youngster waiting in the wings to take over, so I'd probably give him the entire season.

I don't follow spring training but I thought I read that there is a young outfielder who did very well in AZ and he was mentioned as a replacement for Billy. Who is it?
