April 12, 201610 yr Billy Hamilton stinks. I know, it's early. But how much longer before the rest of you guys give up on him? Hard to beat decent teams playing a man short on offense. Before you talk about his overall game- can't steal bases if he can't get on base and yes, he gets to a lot of balls in CF but still has a below average arm. Time to move on from Billy?
April 12, 201610 yr Said it for years - he needs to learn how to hit down on the ball. Instant double. Edited April 12, 201610 yr by mcpapa
April 12, 201610 yr Not sure who you're talking to...Everyone on here has acknowledged this is his last chance.
April 12, 201610 yr How often do teams bat the pitcher in the 8th spot? Reds have done it all year. I guess it makes sense in the off chance that BH actually gets on base.

April 12, 201610 yr Big year for him but it won't be a make/break year as far as staying with the team. His D is good enough to keep him around even if he loses his starting job.

April 12, 201610 yr How long do you think this chance should last? All year, All-Star Break, Til end of May? It's a lost year regardless in terms of competing, and they don't have a youngster waiting in the wings to take over, so I'd probably give him the entire season.

I don't follow spring training but I thought I read that there is a young outfielder who did very well in AZ and he was mentioned as a replacement for Billy. Who is it?
April 12, 201610 yr Set a record for fastest time running around the bases on a home run trot. Doesn't that count for something?

April 12, 201610 yr Cave or Holt maybe? Neither had very good springs. Peraza played some OF. Peraza sounds familiar.
April 12, 201610 yr Does Billy Hamilton have a below-average throwing arm? No, he has a very good arm.
