April 14, 201610 yr The rule applies or FBS schools only. Doesn't top FCS d2 d3 schools from attending FBS camps.
April 14, 201610 yr This kills the MAC schools honestly. Not a big deal but Saban didn't like it so it got eliminated I guess. Heard on the radio from a coach (names slipping me now) that the conference didn't even contact him about his opinion. This hurts the kids more than anything. The kids who aren't good enough to play in the SEC but can play in the MAC or other conferences, but the big time coaches in the SEC don't care about those kids they just don't want Harbaugh touching "their" kids.
April 14, 201610 yr I am confused about all of the, "this is going to kill the smaller school" stuff. Are these coaches now prohibited from attending Michigan's regular camps? Seriously, I am asking because that is the impression I am getting. People are acting like the satellite camp concept has been going on for decades and this is how non-BCS schools survive. And while kids are recognized at camps, the types of resources now available to recruit and get out info on recruits makes the whole "killing the small guy" rhetoric a bit over-dramatic.
April 14, 201610 yr Wondering that myself, trying to figure out how these "poor kids" managed for the hundred years before the camps showed up. Nobody should be surprised the schools don't care about the athletes, just don't limit it to the SEC. Harbaugh doesn't care one whit more than Saban about them.

April 14, 201610 yr Fast forward 6 months when you all are bashing the B10 yet, don't want them invading the south. Not sure what that has to do with my comment but considering how much you bash the SEC I will enjoy the hypocrisy.
April 14, 201610 yr Not sure what that has to do with my comment but considering how much you bash the SEC I will enjoy the hypocrisy. Right over your head.
April 15, 201610 yr I am confused about all of the, "this is going to kill the smaller school" stuff. Are these coaches now prohibited from attending Michigan's regular camps? Yes. Can only have coaches present at camps on your own campus. There have always been a bunch of coaches from the region scouting at camps held by UC. That is now out the window. If it isn't on your own campus, no dice...
April 28, 201610 yr Author Just got an ESPN alert that the NCAA Board of Directors has rescinded the ban on satellite camps.
April 28, 201610 yr Welp.... That didn't last long NCAA overturns ban on satellite camps, wants recruiting review
April 28, 201610 yr So do we retitle this thread to' date=' "Big 10 whines, NCAA listens"?[/quote'] Every single high school football player who wants to play at the next level, wins from this common sense ruling, sorry about your luck.
April 28, 201610 yr Every single high school football player who wants to play at the next level, wins from this common sense ruling, sorry about your luck. Exactly it's common sense, I don't understand why the SEC even became upset in the first place it's not like they're entitled to these players in the first place. This is a win for the youth.
