The NCAA is a joke in many ways. This is example # 2,834,562

Wasn't UK getting big on running satellite camps recently? This rule change only helps a few SEC and ACC schools

SEC and ACC have previously banned their coaches from holding camps further than 50 miles from campus. So the rule helps all SEC and ACC schools.

This means that all of the MAC schools that held camps here (BG, OU, Kent, Akron, Toledo etc) will no longer be doing so. Does this also mean that guest coaches will not be allowed at camps like UC, OSU or Northwestern? Going to make it more expensive to get recruited, thats for sure.

So are they still able to attend camps? UKs had a strong presence in Southwest Ohio

I have no idea. Below is taking from the article. Not sure of definition of "working".

The ruling Friday is effectively a win for the the SEC and ACC, which had banned their coaches from working camps at destinations outside a 50-mile radius from their schools.

NCAA knows what side their bread is buttered, don't mess with the big dog.

Maybe Bama was afraid Northwestern would have a camp in Birmingham and steal some of their elite talent.

The other coaches hate Harbaugh so much that they will vote against their own interest.

You make it sound like the SEC was the only one against this....Pac-12, Big 12, ACC, SEC, MW, and Sun Belt were all against it.

Why was it an issue?

Camps shouldn't go to players, players should go to camps. The SEC was getting ready to approve this so there should be alot of schools thankful the NCAA did what they did today.
