April 8, 201610 yr Author Camps shouldn't go to players, players should go to camps. The SEC was getting ready to approve this so there should be alot of schools thankful the NCAA did what they did today. So kids should travel the country to attend camps? Where are these 16-18 year olds getting the money to do that? Just because the SEC was getting ready to approve it doesn't make it right. The SEC is just one of the conferences upset that schools like Michigan did it and may get their players.

April 9, 201610 yr If only every kid had enough money and or parents to travel the country to attend camps. Been there, done that. It's not that expensive. It can be done on a shoestring budget. Priorities.
April 9, 201610 yr Author Been there, done that. It's not that expensive. It can be done on a shoestring budget. Priorities. Food and housing or camps? You choose camps, I choose food and housing. There is no harm in satellite camps except "stealing" recruits from a region.

Priorities.[/quote'] I'm guessing you and your boy were a little more well off from some of these kids in the south. Instead of paying $25 to go to one camp now and get exposure to 20 coaches, kids will have to go to up to 20 camps to get that exposure.
April 10, 201610 yr Any idea how much it costs to pull this off? Has to be a load to transport and house 75 players.

Instead of paying $25 to go to one camp now and get exposure to 20 coaches, kids will have to go to up to 20 camps to get that exposure. I am far from well off. Let me just say that it's all about priorities in life. Danny Willett's parents twice re-mortgaged their house to fund their son's golf career. Depends on what's important to you.
April 11, 201610 yr Author I'm still waiting to hear why it's an issue if "the camps go to the players"...
April 11, 201610 yr I'm still waiting to hear why you decided to make this about just the SEC, when all the BCS conferences, save the B1G, were against them...
April 11, 201610 yr Here is one issue with "Taking the Camps to the Kids" Let's say that satellite camps become the rage and all BCS schools feel they need to do this to be competitive. Well where are those Camps Going to be? Florida, California or Texas...that's where...because that is where the greatest number of Quality players reside each and every year. So Kids in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and every other state outside of the Big 3 will have to pack up and figure out how to get to Florida, Texas or California, for camp. I have to imagine that it would be cheaper for most players to attend a camp within 100 miles of home than it would be to attend one 500+ miles from home. If a school can only have one Camp and they all choose to have them in the deep south or out west...the kids in the other 47 states have some driving to do.
April 11, 201610 yr I'm still waiting to hear why you decided to make this about just the SEC' date=' when all the BCS conferences, save the B1G, were against them...[/quote'] Are you a Michigan fan or not? Last year you said you were, now you're calling out the B1G. You and Wireman bleed half maize and half SEC, interesting guys. To answer your question, if you are a Michigan fan the SEC put this in place to stop Harbaugh. It's pretty obvious, just type it in your Google machine and read one of the 10 articles.
April 11, 201610 yr I'm a Michigan fan, but I don't follow college football more than at a very "10,000 foot" level, so I wouldn't consider myself a die-hard fan or even a good fan... So no, I don't really care if this was done to stop Harbaugh. Was just curious why the SEC was the only conference mentioned, when all of them were against it, save the B1G. Seems like it was done to intentionally mislead. :idunno:
April 11, 201610 yr I'm still waiting to hear why you decided to make this about just the SEC, when all the BCS conferences, save the B1G, were against them... You're about the only one confused why he led with SEC. Why would the Big Ten be the only power conference in favor? Are they the only one with a dearth of talent in their own backyard?
