The way SF sounds I thought he was an actual woman, no offense to actual women.

I think there is a subtle movement afoot to remove some of the contact from football. It would lose some of its identity but I think it could still be an appealing and fun game.

Football lovers (myself included) have to avoid the wussification of America comments. Safety is a serious issue in football. Trivializing concerns of parents is the wrong way to approach from fans and coaches.

 

Heads up footbal, limited contact, and improved helmets will change the game if we will embrace the change. Fight back and our game will go the way of the dodo bird.

Ive always thought it odd that most the clammier on about how dangerous football is still let their kids go ride bikes and skateboard without a helmet. They let them climb and fall out of trees with no helmet. They let them do kid things goofing off inside the house and hit their head on the furniture/wall/steps and all that is perfectly ok.

 

But put them in $500 equipment and its dangerous, go figure.

Amen. Someone else mentioned four wheelers, motorcycles, and heaven forbid I say it...guns. Of all the thngs we do in this world that are irresponsible, football is way down the list.

Even if SF allowed his kid to play football I would never want to coach him or her. I would be afraid that if they broke a finger nail in practice that I would be hearing from his attorney.

I agree. That's why there is a band and cheerleaders. Plenty of non contact activities to do. We will leave the glee club alone with chess club and similar, and they leave contact sports to those kids and parents who want to play. I'm sick of liberals trying to tell me and my family what's safe and what we are allowed to do. Worry about the kid with asthmatic condition trying to play the tuba who isn't aloud to carry his inhaler or use someone elses on school grounds because liberals consider it a drug and a crime to share.

Bruce Arians said that parents who won't let their children play football are fools. I think just the opposite. Foolish is allowing your son to end up like Junior Seau , Mike Webster, Ken Stabler, Dave Duerson, Chris Henry, Jovan Belcher, and I could go on and on.

Liberals know what's best for all of us.

What's great about a FREE country is no one is holding a gun to you or your kids heads and making them play. You have the choice to not participate. Don't like what's on TV, change the channel, turn it off. Don't like the music on the radio, change the station, turn it off. Don't like football or contact, same deal. What other people don't have the right to do is decide for those who do like the sport and accept the risk. Stop imposing opinions and will on others in the name of safety. I and my family will not bow to cowards attempted control.
