Great game and great tournament

He may have not won the award but Pig Williams is the best player in the 10th and it's not even close, he does so much for this team and proved how far he can really take them.

Anyone who questioned Buddy Biggs ability to coach does not know the game very well.

First off, Congrats to Mason County on getting back to Rupp. Buddy Biggs came in with a plan to basically remove Connor Maddox from the offensive end of the floor, and he basically did that. Pig Williams did an outstanding job covering him all night. The 8 first half points from Dunaway were HUGE for the Royals. they needed something to get them over the hump, and key buckets by Levi did that.

Next, hats off to Augusta, man. Over the last 4 (and for some of you, 5) years, you all have put on a run like no team in the history of our school has. 3 district titles, a Class A Region Title, and now a Region Runner-up. The trophy you hauled back north last night, the experiences you gave the community, and the class individuals you all are will be talked about for generations. Thanks for letting all of us see a part of it.

Finally, to the fine folks of Montgomery County: what a show you put on! Yeah, the drive isn't the best, but it's not THAT bad. You all did an outstanding job hosting. Top to bottom, everything was handled well. Someone from your group tustve stopped by 3 or 4 times each night to make sure we had everything we needed on press row. We'll see you again in 4 years.

No reason to take shots at other players. Pig did what he needed to and led his team to the regional championship.

First of all...Congrats to the Augusta players. They gave all they had. They brought enthusiasm, hope, and attention to the whole town of Augusta. Best of luck to all of them.

The gym and accommodations at MoCo were very good. Being from Mason Co. the 1 hr drive I personally don't think is that bad. But I can see how a 2 hr drive from Northern KY could be much more difficult (especially for an early game). Maybe in the future we can look at a Saturday 1st round or Semis when people can go at their leisure and split the sessions.

Finally...I thought Mason County played with great desire. They had a chance to fold in all 3 of the Regional games. If I'm a college Coach, I want Pig on my team.

Calling SUMO....Hey do you know if Pig came out of any of the 3 ball games? I know he didn't the finals. His presence on the floor is a must. I'll be interested to see how he does against Goodin from Taylor Co.

@maysvilleky yes pig had to sit against Campbell county in the beginning of the 4th quarter because of 4 fouls. I'm not sure how long he sat but it seemed around 3 minutes or so. He also had to come out for only a couple of possessions against Paris because his shoe string broke.

Don't see where anyone took shots at anyone? Just stating what a lot of people said after last night.. There were a lot of good players in the region this year, and Pig didn't get the credit he deserved and I'm glad that people finally realize his true ability.

To say its not even close is discounting the player who the coaches voted for and the other talented players in the 10th. Pig is a great player. I have enjoyed watching him and shook his hand and told him how great he is when I saw him at CCMS for the girls game.

Very nice player, but not the best in the region. Top 5 for sure. Good luck down state.

Thanks. Him being on the floor was the whole key.

All this talk about pig is crazy . The help defense he gets and darrin Williams constantly changing panthers shots when they got in the lane was the difference in the game plus the first half the dunnaway boy had help mason win the game. It was a total team effort. But neither team played close to their ability because of fatigue. Wish they would give a day or two off between semi and finals . All said still to great teams leaving it on the floor and refuse to lose. If Augusta shoots continue to fall the last 3 minutes lack they had on this magical run they had outcome would have been different. These 2 teams could play 10 times on neutral court and they would probably win 5 a piece they are so evenly matched. Good luck to royals in state.

As a former teammate of these guys, I couldn't be more proud of the work they've accomplished this season. The Mason County drought is over, and I'm so excited for this team to fulfill their dreams of playing at Rupp. Go Royals! #TNG

Also congrats to Augusta on a heck of a season, and to Maddox, Snapp, and Crawford for a heck of a career.

The key to Pig is that he always guards the other teams best player. A very few of the other best players guarded Pig. Maddox did not. It is just a fact that Defense is a big part of his game.
