Would someone please film me the next time I get a hotel room?

The guy is on the hook for 51% of it, I doubt he has that kind of coin. The hotel will threaten to appeal and they'll settle with her for less I'd guess.

The hotel will just file for bankruptcy and have it tied up for years, by the time they come out, they will pay less than 20% of what they owe her.

That amount is ridiculous.

I think of all the people that have been butched by others (in various forms) and they are lucky to get one percent of what Andrews was awarded.

Count this as a vote of no confidence in our legal system for me.

I just went and watched the video again. That wasn't worth $55

The jury was furious. That's abundantly clear. It happens sometimes.

It will ultimately settle for far less than that.

I've been on the jury for 2 civil cases, it's crazy what some jurors come up with once you get in the jury room. Once any trial but especially a civil case goes to the jury, ANYTHING can happen and it rarely makes sense :lol2:

Evidently the jury didn't like the defense attorneys' theory that the stalking & subsequent video helped EA's career. :idunno:

 I'll pass.

Blame it on the defense attorney's strategy of trying to say the film helped her career. It's not hard for a jury of women and fathers who have daughters and brothers who have sisters to side with a woman in this situation.

I'll also add that Erin Andrews would likely have been fine with any reasonable amount as long as there is accountability for what happened to her. I've said it a bunch of times, you go in asking for the moon and never tell them what you would settle for. Especially in this case.

Marriott will be fine. They won't need to file for bankruptcy.

I'm glad she got 55 million. People can say whatever but she'll never feel comfortable in a hotel ever again. Her naked body is available to be seen without her consent for eternity. I guarantee it has been seen millions of times in the last 6 hours since this news came out. I couldn't imagine if this was my sister, daughter or wife so I am glad she will get something out of this.
