Erin Andrews Awarded $55M

Featured Replies

Okay. I guess the media has it all wrong when they keep saying what Marriott is on the hook for money wise.

The national media is so lazy these days.

Saw that in The Tennessean. That's why I said the national media is lazy. ESPN and the like keep saying Marriott is on the hook for the hotel's part of the money when the fact is that a judge dismissed the lawsuit against Marriott. That's negligent on the national media for continuing to say Marriott.

Havent followed others reports on the matter. Media is lazy, quickest way to make a buck.

Would anybody on this board be awarded $55 million if something similar happened to one of us?

Not unless the BGP'er was a high profile individual/celebrity with millions of people that wanted to watch the video.

IMO the celebrity status shouldn't matter. The video certainly didn't hurt her image or reputation.

Why do we have to name names of good looking reporters. Just because Andrews was on ESPN and most knew her name, big deal.

Krista Voda is one.

I can't even name half the girls I have been out with.

Really? You forgot her name?

Hard to remember her name when I just lasted :13 seconds. But my goal was to beat Pitino and whew I did.

How does it not matter?

If she were to sell naked pictures of herself or that video, they would be worth a ton more than if an unknown women were to sell naked pictures or a video. The value of her stuff is much more.

Doesn't matter in the fact that it was wrong, but I feel the value of it would be more.

She doesn't deserve $55 million just because people know who she is.

A naked video of us would be seen 10 times. Hers was seen millions. There is a difference.

Which is exactly why it being released illegally is worth a lot more, right?

I would expect a naked picture of me wouldn't be worth anywhere near the amount of a naked Brad Pitt in his prime.

She doesn't deserve $55 million just because people know who she is.

How much is correct then?

Or, rather, how much do you think an appropriate punishment should cost this ownership group over the negligence and/or complicity of their employees in rigging up a celebrity's room to sell nude videos of them?

She doesn't deserve $55 million just because people know who she is.

No, but we also know that she has no chance of sniffing $55 million.

She'll probably get $10 million at best. And I think she absolutely deserves $10 million for that video.

10 million for that. No way.

10 million for that. No way.

If she released it herself how much do you think she could have made off it? A nude video, not this specific video.
