Downtown Louisville hotel suggestions.

Featured Replies

The Mrs and I have an event in Louisville next Saturday and are thinking about staying the night. Looking for hotel suggestions downtown so we can walk around in the evening and check things out. Thanks in advance.

What plantman said. The Galt House is my go to hotel in Louisville. Nice hotel in a great location.

I stayed at the Aloft hotel for the Bruce S. concert upon a recommendation from BGP. A little pricey but well worth it because Mrs. MF liked it. (I liked it too.)

I think they are all pricey downtown. Stayed at the Marriot the other night. Been there a couple of times good restaurant and sports bar in the hotel.

This!

My friend is very good at the Priceline thing. She has been able to get us rooms at the Gault House for $99.00 on a couple of occasions. If you are going expensive, the nicest place I have ever stayed at is The Brown. Very elegant place!

Staying in downtown will be pricey, and any recommendation I could give you would depend on what kind of experience you would like. Louisville offers most every major chain as well as independent; economy, limited service, mid-scale and luxury. Depending on the sites of interest, you may want to stay near Main or Broadway. What do you plan to see and what kind of experience do you wish?

I've heard for years that there is a "good" side of the Galt House which has been refurbed and a "bad" side of the Galt House which needs to be. No personal experience but Mrs. JPA stays there each year for a conference and always comments on whether she was on the "good" or "bad" side.

I think they have a 21C in Louisville as well. Very boutique and probably pretty pricey, but kinda neat.

I stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn at 4th And Chestnut last summer and it is really nice, IMO. Plus there is a nice restaurant/bar on the top floor. Really neat.

Is the Seelbach still open? I stayed there years ago and it was nice but that has been many, many years back.

Really like the Hilton. The Marriot is nice as well.
