Well then couldn't Carson be doing most of those also?

I appreciate that you answered my initial question, before twisting it to something else. I personally don't see Carson wanting to be a VP candidate and he's not waiting for his big state's primary.

I am not curious as to why Kasich is still in the race, I am curious as to why Carson is wasting his time and money.

Not only was winning Texas a must for Cruz, but is also helps him that Rubio couldn't get the much needed 20%.

While I've not had that pleasure to live there, only visited; but I'm sure its similar to most of the other out-of-control, liberal run (opps progressive) in that they tax too much and give too much away (and are near bankruptcy)? Welcome to Bernie Sander's version of America--Free stuff for everyone!

No personal or corporate state income tax in Washington State.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

My bubble's fine--The discussion was on state sales tax, not income taxes?

BTW--I'm pretty sure in general, you'll find states with very low or no income taxes have the higher rates of sales taxes? Gotta get their cash somewhere?

That would make sense to me.

My question is why is Sanders still hanging on. This guy got killed last night and has no chance of winning the presidency.

Why is the closet man Rubio still in it.

I think Rubio will have a better next two weeks than Cruz will.

I thought Turbotax was supposed to eliminate a lot of this drudgery. I wouldn't know. I still do my taxes pencil-on-paper. Still, I'd much rather have an an income tax as opposed to a national sales tax or flat tax. If you want to feel the bite of an out-of-control sales tax, live in Washington state for a few months.

Their overall tax burden puts them close to the bottom third as they have no income tax. Not too shabby at all. By comparison KY is in the top third.

My biggest takeaway from last night wasn't really results driven.

It was how bad the turnout has been in the Democratic primaries and how overwhelming it's been on the Republican side. That has to, at least a little bit, be concerning to the powers that be on the D's side.

That has been my biggest takeaway. Not sure if it is because everyone knows Hillary will be the nominee and Trump moving the GOP needle, but yes, that has to a concern for the Democrats.

I think it is going to be a shame when Kentucky's turnout isn't on par with so many other states. I feel like I've talked to a lot of people, some who even follow the GOP debates, that have no idea they aren't voting in May. And others that know they are voting on Saturday, but have no idea it's not that their typical location.

I hope I'm wrong.

I really cant place it, but Cruz makes me cringe. Listening to his speech tonight was almost like nails on a chalkboard.

Can someone explain to me the whole abolishing of the IRS?

There is not a slimier human being in this race(election or human) than Teddy Cruz. If I had to choose between Trump or Cruz(what a nightmare that would be), I would choose Trump without hesitation.

If you're a retiree, Kentucky is actually fairly attractive -- only a 6 percent sales tax and no income tax to worry about for most since Social Security isn't taxed and the first $41,000 of retirement pensions (per person) is tax-exempt. For some groups of people, a flat tax or national sales tax would be quite expensive. So when Cruz calls for eliminating the IRS, etc., he's mainly just blowing smoke. My money would be on the AARP in that fight.
