Owen County vs South Oldham 1st round 8th region 3/2/16

Who wins this battle & why

Owen won by 3 at home

Williams had 40-15

Owen shot 3/15 from 3's

South shot 11/30 from 3's

Get ready for a great game!

I'm going with Owen

75-71

Unless South Oldham makes at least 15 three-pointers, I believe Owen County wins it, 71-63. I think South Oldham will defend Carson Williams differently in this one, possibly denying the entry passes by fronting him and daring Owen County to lob underneath. But Owen County has too many weapons, and South Oldham will need an exceptional shooting performance to win this one at Henry County.

Now I will admit that South Oldham is one of the few teams in the state that has enough shooters to possibly knock down 15 three-pointers against a team as good as Owen County. But Oldham County defended the Dragons on the perimeter to perfection in the 29th District championship last week, and I am afraid it might have left a blueprint for others to see with their switching off screens and pressuring the shooters.

I'll take Owen in a close game. But you have to think, Oldhams defense is probably the best in the region.

South Oldham's defense is not even close to the best in the region.

The poster said Oldham, not South Oldham. I agree with the poster about Oldham County's defense, very good.

The real question is, "How early do the Owen County fans pack the ROY tonight?" I heard they had Gallatin's gym filled an hour before the game. Will Simon and Collins fans even get a seat. In addition, South fans arrive very early as well. Get your popcorn before you sit...it'll be packed tonight.

I can't believe I'm about to say it, but I'm with the Oldie here. Owen by 8-10 feels right. That said, I watched SO make 24 threes earlier this year, so it could be the other way around.

Looking forward to it tonight. Hoping to maybe meet MacktheKnife if that's possible as well. But we all might be packed in there like sardines

hoping Clyde and TB&G save me a seat. Ha

How big is the gym @ Henry county, never been there. I plan on getting there around 5.

I think this comes down to the wire. I wouldn't be surprised if South Oldham gets the victory.

Is there a broadcast to the game?

The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN

Mike Montgomery of Pegasus will cover all the games tonight and I believe that Froggy will cover the Collins vs. Simon game on the radio, I think it is 103.5?
