I admit confusion to this. So you can bring a giant photo, but you can't have a group of students at the 9th Region get together and spell their school's name like O-L-D-H-A-M with posters or sign paper? That may be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. It's high school basketball!

Just get some boys to put the letters on their chest. Problem solved.

Hey now........Seriously it does deal with a lot of issues...not saying I agree just saying they have rules.....And actually I think they have come a long way in being much more accomodating.

Is it true the people in that arena tried to ban live updates via twitter so people would come to the 9th Region games a few years ago? I read it on another thread in this forum and couldn't believe it!

It sounds like that arena might require everyone to wear a suit and tie to the games. No fun allowed. lol

I would bet this is a 9th region rule not BB&T. A few years back, not sure now, you weren't allowed to have signs at 9th region games. Goes back to Draud's days at HHS and the signs Dixie students made.

There is no such rule in place for KHSAA members. Unlikely the 9th Region has such a rule unless there was an incident that caused it.

It's a beautiful arena & facility but the decision-makers at BB&T (formerly Bank of KY Center) have never been accused of being accommodating or too welcoming.

Is it true they also tried to prevent the media in the 9th Region from using laptops in the arena because they were afraid they might give live updates? That is absurd if correct!

Can't take your shirts off either.

The teams in the 9th make a lot of money from their agreement. So much so that they put up with rules that seem petty to most.

White t-shirts it is then! Or they can shave the letters into the backs of their heads.

I think you and me are on the same page, they need to take the 9th Region back to Holmes and Conner on a rotation basis like years and years ago. It sounds like the current 9th Region tournament has a lot of issues!

Had a nice long talk last night with a key person who worked out this arrangement. I fully understand why we are at BB&T. Plus the bigger point for me is the kids love it.

I will ask again: Are the fans allow to stand and cheer in this arena? lol

Sounds like it has nothing to do with the kids, just money.

They were loud and animated during the girls HHS and HC game last night. It will only get louder as the week goes on.

My friend money or lack of it drives most of the issues in our world.
