Reading between the lines a bit it sounds like the scrimmage was set for 1pm and by 11am the heat was so high that HHS had to move the time back. Not sure what the conversations were between HHS/Male, but it seems reasonable to assume that since Male was already on the way or at the school, that HHS would have offered to cancel or postpone the scrimmage to another day as part of a solution. I would guess it was Male's call to stay all day and wait it out.

And we all know that coaches have a tendency to spin those types of offers to suit themselves when relaying it to the team.;)

One thing I'm sure of is HHS has always ran a class program and I can't see them trying to weasel out of a scrimmage against anybody, nor can I believe they would intentionally have an opponent show up 8 hours early for a scrimmage. It was just a turn of events that played out the way it did in the interest of safety and at the end of the day (albeit a very long day) all was well.

Old Bird, how can you say "I'm confused" and walk away. Help me out then. Or its no big deal, I'm not worried about last year.

Here is the chart:

On September 15th every school has to turn in a log that I believe records the temp/heat index and what activity they did on that day.

You read between the lines quite well my friend, that's exactly the way it came down. And Larry, for someone supposedly not worried about last year, please go back and read your first post on this thread.

On to the scrimmage, looking forward to traveling to Male. We've always been treated well when we played at Male. I know Dale and Bob have a lot of respect for one another and each other's program. Looking forward to seeing the team that BGP ranks as no. 1 in AAAA. Good luck to both teams.

Thanks for the info fellas. Like I said "Its no big deal, its in the past". I have a son that is out in the heat so I know all about the heat index and I've been to more pratices than any parent this summer. We got a call from our son last year and he told us they might be coming home. Why the game had a 1pm start was silly in the first place. But going back to the very first post and the fan saying "why is the game time being changed, does Male have a field"? So anyway, its over hope y'all have a great time, come over and look me up. I'll be wearing something with Bama on it. (its all I have, I'm easy to buy for)

Has anyone heard if Jordan K will be able to play? Yesterday's paper said he would be missing practice this week due to a concussion.

Jordan probably won't play . It's just a scrimmage, I think that Dale will be on the safe side with him.

How about Hurtt? He sat out the Beechwood scrimmage.

Zach has practiced this week, but I don't know if he's playing Friday.

Sounds like more reps for Conner

Is the "Big Red Bus" making this trip??

Yes, but the Dept. of Home-game Security won't let them bring any liquids on board.

If that's the case, the Bus won't ever be started. It might as well be placed on blocks and the tires removed.

Does that thing even run without "liquids" on board
