This would be like comparing the top freshman in the state to Michael Jordan as a freshman. Well we all know Michael got cut from varsity his freshman year, therefore the best freshman in the state in comparable to Michael Jordan.

 

Carson Williams is good, but to be mentioned in the same breath as Larry Bird is beyond me. Poor kid.

Perhaps it should be pointed out that Larry Bird was beaten out for Mr. Basketball his senior year by Roy Taylor and Steve Collier. So if we are truly comparing players while they are in high school, perhaps we should say that while Carson Williams may be as good as Larry Bird, he's no Roy Taylor.

 

I think people keep missing the high school comparison and keep looking at the Hall of Fame, Larry Legend, greatest Celtic ever comparison. I still think it is an interesting comparison and discussion.

Carson isn't even in the same ball park as Chapman. Chapman was an all American at UK and Carson isn't being sniffed at by UK. Chapman was a actual playing player in NBA and the closest Carson comes to playing in the NBA is in his dreams. Just stop comparing this kid to great all American college players and a NBA legend.

Jerry Rice played football at Mississippi Valley State in college, had no offers from Ole Miss, Miss. State, LSU, etc. I think Jerry proved he belonged at the top level, that recruiters miss out all the time. Jerry is just arguably the greatest WR in NFL history. Carson does not care about pressure. He seems to thrive in big-game situations. He will be fine in college and beyond.

Listen congrats to the kid for getting a full ride to get his college paid for and to continue playing a game I'm sure he loves, but NKU is at the very bottom of the well in Division I. I will sign off and watch this thread from afar.
