Owen County 64 Morgan County 58 (All "A" State Quarter-Final)

Featured Replies

Heck of a game. MC waited to long to speed the game up. No answer for Carson.

In the first half Carson Williams drew the assignment of guarding Jordan Perry and Perry took him off the dribble several times and scored. That was a huge mismatch. But an even bigger mismatch was when Williams got the ball. He scored just about every time he seemed to touch the ball. Second half Williams guarded Prater for Morgan and Perry scored 23 2nd half pts. Williams was just too big and too strong for Morgan. Very proud of Jordan Perry and the Morgan County kids and the effort they put forth. Owen co is a very good team and with a dominant physical imposing player like Williams they will be tough to beat. Great game and a great atmosphere. Those that did not attend missed a heck of a game from two teams who left it all on the floor. Glad I got to witness it.

I agree with you. I thought Morgan should have sped it up from start to finish too. And Williams is a beast! Morgan County head and shoulders above Elliott, Rowan and Boyd co this year. If they do not make it to Rupp I'll be shocked!

I`m sure I`ll here about , I`m a hater, and don't have a clue. Looks to me if you can get Perry to shoot the 3, he struggles. He can drive , and get`s a ton of point`s on lay-ups and foul shouts. His out-side jumper , and 3 point shooting has always been his week point , when I have seen him play. And the season stats show how he is from 3. Didn't get his normal 10-14 fouls shouts, witch didn't help Morgan. And taking Half of the team`s shots , makes it hard for teammates to get a shooting rhythm . Sounds like Morgan ran into some Good "D" . Won All-A 16th and a game there. Not to bad, and still have the 16th Region left.

The kid scored 30 points last night and put up 37 more tonight against a real good Owen county team and you are still bringing up his flaws? Wow....anyone who watched him tonight had to be impressed. Man I hope Greenup gets out of districts and gets to face Perry's weak jumper in the region.

Like Perrys game, very soft shot, everything has a chance to go in. He did however stop and back out on several drives to the basket 2nd half after getting step on his man. Why not continue to basket had me and Lawnboy13 wondering.

He did a few times. My thinking was because he had two 6"6 big boys standing in the lane. That plus I think he tweaked an ankle sometime in the 4th quarter. Still played great I thought.

Wished I could have seen this game. I listened to the radio broadcast, though. Thanks to those guys and Lawnboy for what they do at the All A.

And yes weak shooting the 3 . Low 30%`s and if it wasn't for a few weak teams they played , and he made 5`-7 or somewhere close , it would be lower. Plus he doesn't shoot very many. Ashland paper had 16th and some 15 th teams stats. If You shoot 25- 30 some times a game and prob ave 10 to 14 FT. You should put up number`s.

No dog in the fight,,,,,,,lots of good players on the floor this weekend.......If I could take 3 players home with me, I would definitely take the New cath big, Williams from Owen and the Perry kid. Wont see any of them sunday, but they are ballers.

I agree.

First thanks from fixing my grammar. And yes weak shooting the 3 . Low 30%`s and if it wasn't for a few weak teams they played , and he made 5`-7 or somewhere close , it would be lower. Averages 9 FTA per game and 20 FGA per game.

And yes, he puts up numbers.

Big numbers.

Quit hating on a kid who plays the game and works hard. There are hundreds of kids across the state who need to be recognized for what they do, how hard they work.

I'd say state wide Perry is underrated.

Couldn't agree more! All of our high school student athletes put in a lot of time to practice, and play games. I wish certain people would give more praise to these kids than degrade and analyze their games in such negative ways. Give credit where credit is due. Jordan Perry has earned that credit. Great kid and a great player!

To me 37 sounds good, till it was on 32 shots. And more than the rest of his team. I understand a teams top player , needs to step up in a big game. But you also have teammates that need some touches. Is my point, might have helped. And Greenup has a few shooter`s also 29 on Pig and Mason. Ashland paper posted stats 2 weeks ago, 5 different categories. Out of the 5 , Perry was in 4. One Greenup player beat him in 3 out of 4.Points per game average went to Jordan. The rest Rebounds , FT%, and 3 point %. Plus the Greenup player shot a hole lot more 3s . And another Greenup player at 15 points and over 8 Reb a game. May be we will meet, don't forget Morgan has to make Region also.
