Owen County 64 Morgan County 58 (All "A" State Quarter-Final)

Featured Replies

You would never hear Coach Perry say they were in the drivers seat. He knows how difficult it is to win on the road in the 62nd district. As for Morgan not playing Elliott after the All-A, the same thing happened last year & you weren't complaining. Short memory. Elliott fans amaze me. Their all happy when everything's going their way & complaining when their not. It's part of sports & you have to take the good with the bad.

Morgan's girls were scheduled to play on Monday but the game got cancelled. Check their schedule. Once again you don't know what your talking about.

Last comment I will make on the subject. Those ESPN guys get paid to critique players. That's part of their jobs. Most if not all of us BGP guys do not. I'm ok with the critiquing you have done on Perry's game for a few years now, but the bashing I'm not ok with. Not just for him but any other players for that matter. A lot of the Greenup fans would love to see Tackett gone and that is evident. We all get to hear about it after every Greenup game. But let's all remember he is a grown man and not a high school kid. Be fair to the kid is all I'm asking. I'll continue to support him and all of our kids. Our coaches too who put in so much of their time without a lot of extra pay to help teach these kids the game they all love. Peace out and good luck to Greenup and all of our kids the rest of the season.
I`m not joking , I would really like to Know what you call bashing. If I feel it is, I give my word ill stop. But saying doesn't shoot 3s well , is not bashing. Would really like to know
Very much so! I just hope for his sake he gets a chance to show his talents at Rupp! I do believe he surprised a few folks that were at the All A who hadn't had a chance to see him play and watched him go to work against a real good Owen co squad. He plays for a typical small 16th region mountain school and maybe if others seen him play they would appreciate his hard work he has put in and his talents.
That many points, and doesn't he play AAU for a L-Ville team. You would think , that would get his name out.

I can take the good as well as the bad. I'm mature enough to give credit when it is earned can you. From the looks of this thread, everyone agrees you "bash" on players & want only one player whom I won't name to get more credit. If their roles were reversed no one would be "bashing" him. You are calling the kettle black with your comment, " You are one to talk".

Who said I'm an Elliott supporter? Lol I just dislike Perry! If he'd ever yell at my kid the way he does some of his players(not his son), "he does no wrong",me and him would have a come to Jesus meeting!

Rule 2

People are way to soft these days.

Wireman, I'm not soft on my son, I'll be dag on if another man is gonna embarrass my child and let their kid slide until behind closed doors! You treat them the same, if you get after one in public you need to address them all! If I was head coach of my team I'd be 10x harder on my son, and if I did it in front of people I could justify being that way to their son! That's all I'm saying, Jordan is a terrific player, but he's not perfect... His dad says nothing to him but will berate any other "kid" that messes up!

Doesn't yell at his son? I have seen Perry play twice now, a few years ago when he was in middle school starting varsity, and last week vs Owen County. Appeared to me he lights his son up as much as anyone else. When he forced a 3 late in the game with a kid open in the corner his dad was ALL over him. Admittedly that's a small sample size, but I'm quite sure he's not easier on his son and probably expects more out of him than anyone else on the floor, like any coach would from their best player.

Well which is it...treat all players the same or be 10x harder on your kid...which is just as unfair as NOT being as hard on him.

Well, if your gonna be hard on one, you treat them the same...If your gonna address them behind close doors or in the huddle you do the same for everyone. I understand that kids are motivated differently, with that being said you are referring to 2 games. I've watched them multiple times!

Whether you like him or not is irrelevant, you stated their girls played; therefore, the road conditions were suitable for the boys to play. They didn't & you were wrong. Also, you made the comment "you can't avoid them in the district because it's at Elliott". You were trying to imply they are avoiding them & that's far from the truth. Good luck to whomever you support.

It's funny, having been on this site for many years, how much you look forward to some kids graduating so their parents fade away. Sad really.

Well, have u ever been wrong before? I know now that Morgan's girls didn't play.... However West traveled to Rowan. The roads were clear in Morgan that day as well I was there!
