January 20, 201610 yr My wife is flying from Atlanta to Cincinnati on Friday at 2:00PM. She is due to arrive at 3:30. Latest I saw on NKY.com says arriving Friday overnight. I am not believing that after reading this. I told her she should be ok, looks like I might need to update her. She is deciding whether to take the late Thursday or early Friday. When do you think it will hit Cincy.

NKY should be fine doesn't look like it will start until Friday afternoon. As of now it looks like maybe 1-2" on the ground by Saturday morning. Maybe 3-5" by Saturday evening.
January 20, 201610 yr Author There is an area from just west of the I-75 corridor from about Harrodsburg towards the east that that has a chance to receive as much as 18" through Saturday evening. Cities in this area include Harrodsburg, Lancaster, Georgetown, Cynthiana, Sadieville, Flemingsburg, Lexington, Richmond, Winchester, Mt. Sterling, Prestonsburg and Paintsville. As of now I'm going with around 9-12" in that area. North of that area I'd say 3-5". Southcentral Ky 6-8" WKY 2-4" Now these are preliminary predictions and I will be refining them as we get closer.

January 20, 201610 yr Author Yesterday at 6:00 PM all the local stations and weather channel were predicting 5-8 inches for the Jackson purchase. We got 1-2 in most and 3-4 in others. They were all off. this is my post from Monday Monday evening update. I'm going to go ahead and go into a Winter Weather Threat mode for Wednesday. It looks like we have a very good chance for accumulating snow in most of Kentucky. Western Kentucky looks to receive freezing rain/sleet or ice. Most of Central and south central Kentucky now look to get 2-4" of snow by Thursday. There could be some spots that get up to 5". Cities included in the 2-4" category are Princeton, Henderson City, Owensboro, Bowling Green, Monticello, Corbin, London, Louisville, Richmond, Winchester, Mt. Sterling, Lexington, Owenton, Carrollton, Cynthiana. Northern and Eastern Kentucky are looking to receive 1-2". Western Kentucky could see .01-.10" of freezing rain/sleet plus 1-2" of snow. This total could be lower depending on when the freezing rain changes over to snow. Please take note that these totals will likely change between now and Wednesday. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on how much they may get in their area.
