KentuckyJoe Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 The wife and I are thinking about taking a little trip just her and I. We never do anything or go anywhere without the kids but could use some relaxation. Not wanting to drive for hours maybe 3 or so at most. Doesn't have to be anything crazy just nice relaxing. Any ideas? We have thought maybe Indy or just head down to Lexington.
Bengal Maniac Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Chagrin Falls, OH, great relaxing place. About 4 hours from Covington. Chagrin Falls Inn is really and old time romantic place. Small theater next door that has local plays on Friday and Saturday nights. For about 10 bucks you can take that in also. Nice restaurants. French Lick Resort is nice. A little expensive, but worth it.

Peaceful relaxation since we will be away from pur three kids. Really open to any ideas Save the drive and book a hotel in downtown Cincy. When is the last time that you enjoyed the city without keeping an eye on the kids?
KentuckyJoe Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Last time a whole night without any kids was almost 9 years ago. We do dinner without kids once a year or more. We just don't want to miss anything with our kids and enjoy every moment. Long over due long weekend for us
ThrillVille Cardinal51 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Gatlinburg can be fun. Seclusion in the mountains with a cabin, then there's some interesting stuff downtown.
Big Slick Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Hocking Hills, Ohio, the hottub capital of the world(self proclaimed ).
BigVMan23 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Maple Hill Mannor bed and breakfast in Springfield (KY). You will thank me later, and you are welcome. PS, book the Bluegrass room.
Cats3x Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 JMO, but Indianapolis is the worst city I've been to. Quiet, but boring.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Gatlinburg can be fun. Seclusion in the mountains with a cabin, then there's some interesting stuff downtown. Get a Mountain Chalet...just make sure you are in a SUV or something with 4 Wheel drive as some of the driveways and even roads to them are steep...but nothing better than sitting in the hot tub on the deck in the snow. Here is the view from the deck the last time we were there, that's Gatlinburg in the bottom left of the photo
Content1 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Mrs. C1 had a retreat here last week and said the place was fantastic! We'll be booking some time here in February... Let me know what you think if this is the route you go! Richwood Plantation Historic bed and breakfast Milton, Kentucky
