If players start thinking they may be ejected in addition to fines, maybe they change their behavior.

Which is why I said that if they institute replay into the game for these type of plays the officials need to throw the flag if it is close then use replay to confirm or overturn the penalty. Yes I know there will still be subjectivity in regards to determining if it's close or not, but more flags will be thrown and more correct calls will be made.

First, Smith acts like a rat on crack 24 hours a day. In the event you ever watch another Steeler game, he's easliy seen in his hyperactive manner. Maybe he did incite Huber somehow. I'm not sold. If he was gonna have words with anyone to incite them he could have picked someone better. But maybe he did considering the context of that game and that moment. Maybe he said "I hope you shank your next one you such and such". Maybe that would make this crowd feel better.

My reason for posting the vine was a little bit of context for Hill's dance that you posted. I know you were at the game, but the broadcast pointed out that Hill took exception to Shazier and Blake dancing, so I can see how he responded by mimicking Gay later in the game. Although it still doesn't make the egg on his face look any better after he fumbled the game away.

 

Today was the first time I saw it, and it struck me as noteworthy that not only was he in the middle of the field during a Bengal injury, but that in order to say "what up Kev" he had to walk around a dance number.

That's why I like NKU's idea... Throw the flag if it's at all questionable and let instant replay sort it out...

I predict the NFL will never go there (allowing challenges on whether flags should have been thrown). They still need to keep games to their 3 hour or so windows in order to satisfy TV.

The Bengals will never have to worry about NOT being showcased in primetime anymore (even if they go 4-12 in a given season). NBC and ESPN will demand at least one of the yearly Steelers/Bengals games for the next decade.

Does anybody mind if I change the topic to something else about the game? I had not been to a Steelers game in person for a couple years. On the other hand, I have Bengals season tickets so I see them a few times a year. To my understanding, both teams use "zone blocking" schemes by their offensive lines. The Steelers looked liked they were able to seal the edges better than the Bengals allowing big runs by their "backup" RBs (almost every single play). I have no clue what the Bengals were doing. It seems like their line tries to out muscle the opponents and the RBs look for holes that aren't there. Can somebody educate me?

Does anybody besides have a problem that the Bengals never blitzed an injured Big Ben on that last drive? I hate it when they think they can cover. On the fourth down, I believe they only rushed three.

I have a huge problem with it... In fact, they should've blitzed a lot more all season IMO...

As disgraceful a loss as I've ever witnessed. And I've been watching football for over 55 years. Terrible.

 

I've been watching for over 45 and your description is Burfict...I mean, perfect. Just utterly disgraceful. I divorce myself from this franchise. Not another 40+ years for me... No way!

What an embarrassment for the players and the fans. No class for either. Burfict is an idiot. What a dumb penalty. Fans throwing garbage at a hurt Rothlisberger. And the dude from Pit celebrating with Gio laying on ground basically unconcious. Just a terrible game again.

 

 

The last two games these teams have played have been an embarrassment to the game of football. Absolute thugball !!! Some of these guys would probably feel more at home in a prison cell than on a football field. There should not be a fan in either city that is proud of the display shown by these two squads. But then look at the action of the fans as well. Just disgraceful.
