January 8, 201610 yr Two Refugees Living in U.S. Arrested by Feds For Terror-Linked Activity | Mediaite Been here since 2009 and lied on application. I'm sure none of the refugees from Syria are going to do that.
January 8, 201610 yr I agree with accepting refugees, we just need to get off our rear ends and properly check anyone entering the country. It's not a matter of can we do it, it's a matter of us seeing it as a priority. This goes above any sitting president, all the three letter agencies need to start doing a better job.

Sportsguy41017 I am all in for helping people. But how do we vet these people. I have been thinking about that issue. Alot of these people have no records like we have here. No data base. No finger prints. No nothing. You know how this works. There have been plants since the 40s by countries with spys and etc. I mean ISIS is not stupid. I sit back and try to think if I were ISIS how would I do this and its scary. I just cant figure out how it can be done effectively.
January 8, 201610 yr ^ We have the intelligence to do it, but many times we do not use it effectively or the way we should. Such as, and I say this for about the 100th time on here, we need people from the Intel community on the ground in the M.E., Including clandestines, but do we? No. Same with many other things, we disregard what we can and should do. There are enough people in Intel that can "read" people and be very effective at it, but again we don't utilize it to the best of our ability. I too am all for helping people. But the ones that we should vet properly should be families with young kids only. Vet them properly, we have the resources if we decide to use them.
January 8, 201610 yr Then would you not agree we should stop until we do take the proper steps to vet them all properly? I mean "if we only save one life" likes being touted in the gun control argument, then I think one life here would have the same value as with the guns correct?

January 8, 201610 yr No, JJ. It doesn't fit the agenda. Hey capt278 just a little common sense right?

No. Same with many other things, we disregard what we can and should do.. I'm pretty certain we do. The government doesn't identify them for their safety but I am pretty sure there is an entire department of the CIA which has handlers working with people in the middle east who are acting as spies for us. Regardless, the Middle East is simply too big even dream that these people are even remotely familiar with all who are trying to come over.
January 8, 201610 yr The one guy was finally proved to be involved in the current Syrian conflict by matching his fingerprints off an artillery shell confiscated in Syria. We have the second best spy agency in the world and this guy simply lied on a immigration form. If we are having to use this kind of vetting to prove people are lying .....holycow

We don't have nearly as many people working on the ground as we used to. Why? Because the powers that be decided that the new technology could replace the people we had on the ground, they were wrong.
January 8, 201610 yr Author The point in this thread was a a few weeks ago there was a topic touting how awesome our refugee vetting system investigates . Now we look here it took us 6 years to figure out these two were lying. I just don't get why it's racist or xenophobic to say why don't we freeze refugees from that area until we can 100% guarantee the saftey of our citizens. Our FBI director says right now he can't do that with the current system.
