We have some older cars in the family and the headlight lens on some have become clouded. I've seen some ads for cleaners or solvents that are supposed to restore them close to their original condition. Has anyone tried any of these products? Do they work? Recommendations? Thanks for any and all replies.

I've heard (maybe here, I can't remember) that Deep Woods Off works, but I've never tried it.

I've seen on Pinterest several times that using toothpaste works. Might be worth a quick try?

Yes they work, some Drive Through Oil Change places will do it for you for a reasonable price.

 

Toothpaste works also, we did this on one car. The kit that comes with a buffing wheel to put on your drill works incredibly well.

How cool would it be if cars still had glass headlamps. We wouldn't even be having this discussion lol.

I can't remember what I bought for my mom's car, but it was so unbelievably easy to use and worked fantastically. I will try to find out. I can't even remember where I got it. But it really took minimal effort, and her car is over 20 years old and had never had anything done to the headlights.

The guy that makes this video makes several others including ones using tooth paste and Off. He recommends you don't use Off because it doesn't last and it will damage your headlights and can damage your paint and trim because of the deet in it. Toothpaste is safe.

The body shop I use wet sands the lenses and then clear coats them. They used to try to buff them out but the haze would return after a year or so.
