Every year it's the same old thing somebody is never happy because they felt like their kid should have made the list.... I don't have a dog in this fight and from all the rosters I've seen I don't have an issue with them......

 

Not a question of A KID making the list, but rather ignoring an entire section of the state. Not sure why people cannot understand that. Plenty of deserving kids that got the short end of the stick. If Louisville was completely left out of the process, would you be complaining? Sure you would.

As much promotion as NKY gets on this site, I just can't bring myself to feel sorry for the absence of some post season award that really doesn't mean a hill of beans in the grand scheme of things. Probably a me thing.

No one asking anyone to feel sorry about anything, just calling it like I see it. This team is flawed and the AP should be embarrassed with the product that they put out in print. I am done with this thread as it is time to move on and make some more important decisions, like what offer to accept.

IT DOES NOT REALLY MATTER TO MAYFIELD... IF SOMEBODY WANTS SOMETHING TO CHEW ON ABOUT THEM, THEN CHEW ON SOME WOOD... THEY GOT PLENTY OF WOOD HOLDING THE GOLD UP ON ALL THOSE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES...

 

Not really a question of "if it matters" but it's a very very flawed system.

I know very little about 75% of most of the players who made the squad but I would guess all are good football players.

I do know quite a bit about several players who are very good players who made several other "all state" teams but were completely over looked on the Associated Press teams.

I would say the AP is the most flawed of all the selected teams.

Even though my Purples had four first teamers on the list, this poll is a joke. If Northern Kentucky doesn't have a vote and Western Kentucky's guy didnt bother to vote, it's a hollow poll. It's just something to make some kids feel good about their year and some parents mad because their kid didn't make the list.

Who votes for Mr.Football? AP? Wasn't Mason Alstatt a finalist yet he's not even honorable mention All-State.

Corbin had a player make honorable mention as a LB, a position he never played in his 4 years of high school.:idunno:

All state they must have forgotten to look outside of Louisville/Lexington

 

They must have looked in Laurel Co. too as there are 9 from there, 6 from North Laurel and 3 from South Laurel, who won a total of 2 games.

I agree, TJ was a fine player on both sides of the ball for Belfry. It will tough to replace him at DE/OLB next season.

 

TJ actually would have probably been a starter in the backfield for many teams, but he accepted his role of being needed on defense and he excelled at it. It has been a pleasure to watch him.

 

I saw where he is on the KY/TN Border Bowl roster. Congrats to him for that honor.

I'm not 100% sure but I do not remember seeing Mason Alstatt as a voting option for RB. There's a lot of nominations for each position, so I could have missed over him… He was for sure an option for Mr. Football, but I don't remember seeing him as an option for RB.
