This game was a little closer than the final score would indicate. Highlands again struggles out of the gate, falling behind by double digits before closing out the quarter strong. Play a nice 2nd and 3rd quarter and early portion of 4th and then they just cannot cut the Cru lead to less than 5 points. Turned into a free thrown contest late and St. Hanks made them as evidenced by the final score.

Highlands has to re-group and get after Walton tomorrow night.

Goetz played well for the Cru! Kept down the turnovers and did not get rattled with pressure. He got to the basket and made some nice assist for others in the paint. HHS pressed and at times their guard play in return got out of control. Finfrock played well down low and went coast to coast. Much better shape than last year. He had a very good game for the birds. Daugherty continues to make some sweet passes; unfortunately tonight the birds did not shoot well and was horrid from the charity stripe. Spot to many points dig and claw back and Cru made free throws at end. Birds get back at it tonight.

Is that the same Daugherty that plays LB and kicks for the Birds? Man, what an athlete if it is. He flat our delivers wood on the gridiron, is a great kicker, and hoops as well? Does he sell popcorn at halftime too? Goodness.

One and the same. Still working way back to basketball after having to be away from it for the better part of a year plus. Easy to pick up where you left off on the defensive end, but the offense needs some work and hopefully that gets better with each practice and game.

Birds just need to stick together and listen to what the coaches are telling them and they will progress nicely as the season rolls along. Still working out a lot of kinks and have to remember they have only played 5 games and been in the gym for about 5 weeks.
