I lived in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico for a year and LOVED it. However, if I am going to live abroad, I will live in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica and write novels from one of the cafes, while taking breaks surfing or walking in the jungle. I would be off the grid.

Germany. I see that country as the closest thing to the US.

If I had no familial connections and no reason to be here, I think I would go work at a wildlife preserve like in Kenya to work with Elephants.

Spain. Have to respect a place that believes in staying up late and getting a good nap in the afternoon...

I loved the time I spent in Spain.

Costa Rica would be an early front-runner for me.

Barbados, St. Bart's, St. Marten or Turks and Caicos. It would be one of those places without a doubt.

Canada, England, Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, Costa Rica.

Spain , specifically Menorca , one of the Balearic Islands .
