December 17, 201510 yr Author Again, I'm somewhat numb to UK being a below average program so my expectations are low but I hope Stoops is given 5 to 6 seasons to prove something. His recruiting has been decent. 5 to 6 seasons gives him more than enough time to get his guys in and on the field and adjust for his misses in recruiting. Also, who else could we get ? Coaches aren't exactly beating down the doors to coach at a school where football is a means of entertainment until basketball rolls back around. No doubt. I have he exact same mindset. I just feel like if next season UK has a similar season to this season then they'll run Stoops out of town. He needs at least 5-6 seasons as head coach for a fair evaluation IMO.

December 17, 201510 yr I agree, but it is hard to have patience when you don't believe in something. I totally disagree with getting rid of Shannon Dawson. IMO, this is the beginning of the end for Stoops tenure. The offense will be learning another different system with different terminology. They will not win again next fall. Yep, they should have given him at the least one more year.

December 17, 201510 yr I'm not a fan of firing coordinators after one year, but Stoops wasn't 100% sold on Dawson heading into a make or break year for him then he had not other choice; if he's going to go down he has to go down with "his" guys. Stoops being a defensive guy probably has a hard time with the "Air Raid" concept and probably was not 100% percent sold on an all out Air Raid; which in return handcuffed both Neal Brown and Shannon Dawson. Stoops in a can't miss situation with this hire, and better hire a guy that he wants and trusts or else the same inconsistency will occur next season on the offensive side of the ball.

December 17, 201510 yr Who are they? That's actually being thrown around by UK staff I have not heard the staff mention any names, nor I doubt we will until a contract is signed and the ink has dried.
