^^^^Not comparing style of play or ability. Simply stating that I don't think playing JV against smaller less physical players helps development. That's all.

Is that without it being reported? It's been said on here many times where the kids have been disrespectful to other fans. Just because it has been going on for so long doesn't mean the kids don't need to be in check.

 

They are HS kids which don't always tend to look ahead a to see what their actions can do.

 

I'll be clear, I'm all for them and they are entertaining to watch. But you can't say "without incident" to quickly.

 

I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall a genuine incident one or two seasons ago involving the Crazies and one of the Boone County -- as in, any one of the four Boone schools -- teams or student sections. Given the tone of this thread I'm sure someone knows the details and will be willing to share.

Burkman for Trinty hit seven 3's. They only have 2 seniors on the team. The team is a complete make over from last year. It sounds like T staved of the momentum Covington Catholic gained at the end of regulation, so that is a positive (after a negative).

One student reportedly did something stupid at Ryle.

 

I'd prefer to keep this about basketball though. Some like them. Some hate them. Nothing is going to change or be resolved.

You are also unaware that the administration shoots down anything even close to disrespectful. Heck, even when they imitate the coach and copy what he does, which in fact opposing fans and even Ludlow's coaching staff and Trinity players were all cracking smiles and laughing about. An incident has yet to happen on an inbound pass, or the administration wouldn't allow it and or the officials would move the players, so yes they are mistake free in that regard.

 

Highlight of the night : Student section side ref made a questionable call and gave Trinity a Timeout, during the time out, a Crazie Said hey ref and ref turned around and saw the kid holding out glasses.

 

The ref was nothing but smiles. Even they enjoy it.

Based on your golden team being 1-2 and watching Connor tonight. Just sayin.

 

Golden team? I'd be willing to bet there are several other top 20 teams who would be 1-2 playing Covcath's schedule right now as well, so not sure what your point is there.

 

I've said multiple times and even told coaches in this area that I felt the 9th was going to be down some this year, but that has more to do with the fact that the region is younger and more inexperienced compared to previous seasons when you had multiple teams who not only had "stars" but also had senior leadership to compliment those players.

 

And for the record, it's CONNER, not Connor. Just sayin.

Like I said, it has been going on for umteen years now, WITHOUT incident. Hell, most times the inbounds player is laughing about it.

 

That player inbounding the ball in my pictures always wants that picture. They love it.

Thanks for posting that video Panda. Now that I have seen it, I don't think that should be legal. Yell all you want, imitate the other coach, etc... but you should not be able to get that close to a kid inbounding the ball IMO. I have never seen that at any other HS game or college or certainly not in the NBA. Just my opinion...

Im not taking a side but the ones inbounding the ball do seem to enjoy the experience. Only the opposing fans seem to be troubled by it. They do keep their distance.

I love it, and I'm a NewCath guy. Most opposing players take it has a "badge of honor".

I generally find the Crazies taunting the inbound pass player funny, but every time it happens, though it appears that the refs are making sure that the guys stay far enough back, I still wonder if the player is always awarded enough ample room to move his arms freely depending the circumstances he is experiencing while trying to get the pass in, and to the player he is targeting. He should at the least be able to have all the room necessary without be cramped, and if he becomes cramped, that's where I would object. His free movement should not be the least bit stifled or compromised.
