I'm curious..technically, the inbounder has a 3'x3' space to inbound the ball. What is the call, if in the act of inbounding the ball, contact is made with a crazy?

One correction.

 

The box is indeed 3 feet wide.

 

However, there is no limit to how far back the thrower can go.

So what is the call if the inbounder is interfered with, either intentionally, or unintentionally? Seems there should be some penalty.

I have spoken to some officials that do not like the actions of the crazies on the inbounds in front of them, but do not want to be the ones to make waves over it, so they put up with it.

There you have it. Officials timid against the almighty Crazies. Just because they have always done it, that does not make it right. Be respectful. Word.

It is inappropriate, they leave their seats (or seating position). They should be required to stay or stand in their seats and not move towards a player.

Thanks for posting that video Panda. Now that I have seen it, I don't think that should be legal. Yell all you want, imitate the other coach, etc... but you should not be able to get that close to a kid inbounding the ball IMO. I have never seen that at any other HS game or college or certainly not in the NBA. Just my opinion...

I'm guessing it would be a technical on CCH wouldn't it? Seems like it would be.

Isn't the box 6 feet wide? 3 feet both ways. If not, a foot and a half doesn't give you much room.
