Sacred Heart 101 Seneca 21

Featured Replies

I know it is early in the season but I would like to see a SH vs. Holmes matchup.

Sacred Heart certainly made a statement.

101 in a high school game is feat. Wow

I've been told there is a runnning clock once the difference hits 35 in the second half. Is this a rule for the boys and not the girls?

Sacred Heart certainly made a statement.

And exactly what statement is that? They embarrassed a team that may not win a game this season. I agree they may have made a statement--- but in no way was it a positive one! Karma is a .....

I was waiting for someone to make this statement. where you at the game?

The starters played maybe 13 minutes on average and didn't press. In the second half they passed the ball 10 times before attempting a shot.

Seneca is just that bad. I'm sure Sacred Heart doesn't want to play teams that aren't competitive, but seneca is a district game.

Seneca only had 6 players and after halftime one was in street clothes.

It's just an unfortunate situation that no one likes.

These games are no win situations for both teams. Always that fine line between embarrassing by scoring too much or playing keep away. Not sure which is more of an issue.

Pass - I find that very hard to believe that they passed the ball 10 times and tried not to score with a running clock after the 35 point differential. I know you are in the SHA family but that is silly rationalization. How about holding the ball for 30 seconds or more before starting the "10 pass offense"??? (I'm assuming Seneca was not 'pressuring' the point guard into starting the offense). How about NOT scoring over 100 when they had 99 (which was bad enough). I think this was more about SHA's "if you don't want us to score, stop us..." mentality than it was about how bad Seneca is...

There are "bad" matchups every night of the season????? Go back and count how many times girls teams score over 100 points. Am I missing something? I am an old school dinosaur that believes you play to win, only the winner is rewarded.....but I also really believe in sportsmanship? Maybe I am off here?

101-21. 91-21. 81-21. It really doesn't matter does it? Some would complain that 71-21 would be unsportsmanlike. Sometimes there is only so much you can do. The other team IS that bad. IMO you cannot tell your girls not to play hard. At that point the game becomes more about not hurting anyone's feelings....that's not what basketball should be about.

Circular argument here......i am done with it. if you think it is ok, you do. if you dont, you dont. but some teams go on the list to root against. have a wonderful weekend!!!
