Pass - I find that very hard to believe that they passed the ball 10 times and tried not to score with a running clock after the 35 point differential. I know you are in the SHA family but that is silly rationalization. How about holding the ball for 30 seconds or more before starting the "10 pass offense"??? (I'm assuming Seneca was not 'pressuring' the point guard into starting the offense). How about NOT scoring over 100 when they had 99 (which was bad enough). I think this was more about SHA's "if you don't want us to score, stop us..." mentality than it was about how bad Seneca is...

 

Like I said you had to be there. Do you tell the reserve players that get a chance for some PT to not play defense in the half court? They didn't trap or press. Seneca had five players, so maybe they should have forfeited at halftime? They turned the ball over almost as much as shots attempted for the game. Seneca did pressure the ball in the half court to their credit. They didn't just lay down. They put out the effort on defense.

 

You are way off base on the stop us if you can comment, but I get it. No one wants to be involved in a game like that, so believe what you want.

I guess the question is what did it prove to post this?? Seneca won 3 games last year. Not very impressive to boast on the win. All of NKY bashed Homes last year for 40 points or more in a game and again this week for the 40 points against Boone... So I would expect it to happen to a Louisville team as well. I just don't think it's impressive and it proved nothing to post.

Fair enough. When I attend the games, I've always posted scores on BGP going back to 2009. Didn't know there was a protocol. If you look down the threads, I think you'll see other posting that shouldn't be posted according to that line of thought. And no boasting intended.

Agreed.. But people post what they want. I just wondered the point of the post if we knew about Seneca... There will still be post about blowouts.. Never seen one this bad though.. lol.. Maybe NKY will stop talking about Holmes for a while and talk about this game..

Marion County produced some that were worse than this a few years back against better teams than Seneca.

I think this situation is a little different than what folks get on Holmes about. He said the starters played 13 minutes and didn't press. Not sure that's the case in the Holmes incidents. But we've just learned to live with it up here. I'm numb to Holmes beating someone by 40 anymore because we know how it happens and why. It doesn't help me judge how good they are one way or another until they play a good team. They did he same thing last year and once they played good teams, those deficits went way down. Nothing against Holmes. To each their own. But blowouts by Holmes don't make me think anything other than they do what they do. You cannot judge how good they are by those scores.

If if they were better than Seneca, I get it. And I honestly am not concerned with the Holmes blowouts, like the other poster said.. You get use to it. I Just felt bad for the kids at Seneca after seeing their record. But like I said, people will post what they want. I was only wondering for my understanding.

Seneca started the game with 6 players and one had an asthma attack and did not finish. SHA sat in a 2-3 zone and then shot mostly lay ups beating Seneca down the floor. Seneca coach and AD was not mad about score. Coach Moir is a class act and even apologized after the game. The positive part for Seneca is they scored 21 points, only scored 11 points last year and had more girls and talent. Few of the girls were suspended for not attending practice.

Sacred Heart scored 46 points in the second half, with the clock running the whole time. If in fact "SHA sat in a 2-3 zone and then shot mostly lay ups beating Seneca down the floor" as stated in the previous post, why was Sacred Heart running the fast break anyway? Also, it appears that Sacred Heart kept shooting 3's in the second half (a total of 9 3's made by 6 different players). I have no ill will against Sacred Heart, but I don't accept the premise that it did all that it could to keep the score down.

What about the girl that scored 58 of 61 points for her team? Was she running up the score? Was she trying to pad her stats? Didn't St Francis win by more than a few? Why didn't the coach take her out? If had kids on the winning side of things when they have won big and on the losing side of things. There is nothing you can do about either!

According to the box score that appeared in the Courier-Journal, St. Francis was ahead at the end of the third quarter in that game 42-39. Not surprising that a team would leave their star player in under those circumstances. Somewhat different from the Sacred Heart game, in which Sacred Heart led 55-11 at halftime.

I got "blasted" on Facebook last week for posting play by play of the NewCath/Dayton boys game, then posting a final score thread with comments. It was not to "boast" or "gloat".........every NewCath game I attend I do this, and for a handful of reasons.

 

1. The sports coverage by the Enquirer is minimal at best.

2. I'm proud of NewCath athletics, and enjoy promoting all of them, no matter if they are winning or losing.

3. I have been thanked over the past 4-5 years by countless grandparents, family members, alum, etc who either live out of town or are "snowbirds" for posting updates so they can follow along.

Holmes got bashed hard core last year for blowing out Taft.. I remember that.. What makes this different? Just out of curiosity, not trying to start anything by no means.
