December 4, 201510 yr Bruno Mars will be a part of the show, but Coldplay will be the main act. Heard on the radio this morning that Bruno Mars will be part of a performance outside the stadium before the game. Maybe he's doing both.
December 4, 201510 yr I LOVE Coldplay! Super excited about this! I haven't seen them in concert, but my son has and says they're one of the best concerts he's seen. My butt will be firmly planted and watching.
December 4, 201510 yr Okay the NFL blew a Golden (see what I did there) opportunity on the 50th Anniversary of the Super Bowl which they have been hyping all year. Here is what they should have done........I take you back to 1967 and the First Super Bowl......who is the hottest thing on the planet musically and would fit in great with the NFL's 50th Super Bowl and the NFL's fascination with England? Roger Goddell walks to stage at halftime and says, "Fans the NFL wishes to introduce tonight's Halftime entertainment. 50 Years ago we started this little NFL championship game and its appeal has captivated the United States and now we even have fans all over England. 50 years ago this man also captivated the United States.......Please Welcome Sir Paul McCartney!!!! So Paul comes out and rips thru Beatles tunes then for the finale Twist and Shout you stick Ringo on the drums and bring back past Super Bowl halftime guests (and they would do it for Paul) like Springsteen, Prince, Petty etc . Epic.

Epic. Yeah, but Sir Paul already did a halftime show back in 05.
December 4, 201510 yr They should have just gotten Garth Brooks to perform. He puts on a great show anytime he performs. Even though not everyone likes country, he puts on a great show.

December 4, 201510 yr Who should it be? If they want to appeal to the most people, you go after the top name across the globe in music. Some will disagree, but there is no one more popular right now than Taylor Swift.

December 4, 201510 yr @Jim Schue just threw up a little, in his mouth. Well, maybe not just a little.
December 5, 201510 yr Just reading the 27 previous posts in this thread shows me the NFL would be ripped by many no matter who they took. I can take or leave Coldplay...don't love them or hate them...not my first choice for sure. Heck, if Elvis was still alive and in his prime, we would have people ripping the choice if it was him. Music is like politics...we will never agree on that either...
August 10, 201610 yr If you thought last year's choice was bad, just wait until this year! Adele is the rumored performer they are courting for SB 51. Everyone will be asleep before the 2nd half starts!
