Taylor County 98 Caverna 77

I'm not buying that he took 59 shots. Do the math on that. 59 shots in a 32 minute game? I'm going to need to see a box score before I believe that.

I'm not saying it's true or not just what I was told. I heard it from a Taylor County person and then it was confirmed to me by someone from Caverna this morning. I mean he had 20 rebounds so that would help boost the shot attempts. It's not a knock on the kid at all. I think he's really good. Just trying to add to the conversation.

Sounds like me in a church league game.

77 is a low score in church league.

The Paul kid averaged about 10-12 a game last year, if I remember correctly. I saw at least one game where he scored 18. There was probably a college or two there and this was Faulkner's chance to put on a show.

Faulkner has already signed with a college.

Different sport, but this popped into my head.

No, he also rebounded.

That's just funny, I don't care who you are.

Didn't realize he had already signed. Guess that blows that theory.

Anyone have a box score from this game

I'll have the box score shortly. I'm told that 59 shot attempts is false.

Here is my thoughts on shots to score in relation to this game. I am not sure what it matters how many he shot. 30-40-50 is still a bunch of shots. I was told he hit 20+ free throws as well. So if he score 20 on free throws that leaves about 30 points left to score.

Efficiency is what you are talking about now. So how many shots should a good player shoot to score 30 points not counting free throws. Also you must take into account that they aren't just playing an average team. that will also cause his shot attempts to be greater.

Lastly, someone help me understand something about this game. With about 5 minutes to go in the game Taylor was leading by 20 plus. The coach from Caverna then began to foul Taylor on every inbound to put them on the line. Taylor continued to hit free throws. The fourth quarter ended with a 39-37 score for that quarter. What was his purpose? Give Faulkner more points? Faulkner played to the very last second scoring 7-9 against the JV. Someone please explain.

spelling

I was told he would have scored 70 points if he had made free throws.
