Greenup Co. 74 Johnson Central 70 final.

This was first game of season for both.

Paging X's and O's to tell us how Greenup would have won by more if they had a real coach

Nice win for the Musketeers.

X&O will show. Lol.

JC short handed still because of football.

Herein lies the ridiculousness of the current scheduling setup. Why does basketball start before football ends? Why does baseball start before basketball ends? And I know it only affects a few teams, but there are football players who are slighted basketball games because of their football success.

Easy fix: get rid of week 0. It makes no sense. And eliminate the first round of the playoffs. There you have it. Football would end the week before Thanksgiving.

Why is the suggestion what football should do? There are 13 Fridays in the basketball regular season, 11 in the football regular season. I don't think basketball would be hurt starting one week later.

Good win by Greenup. JC up 7 with the ball an 40s left in the first half and went in up only 2. JC is shorthanded and very young and will only get better from this. Greenup was the better team tonight and it was a well played game. Mason Blair led all scorers with 27 points.

There are also 25+ basketball games that each team plays while football teams are fortunate to play 11+. Highlands and other football strong schools schedule lightly and later in December to accommodate their football program. At the same time when you have 15 kids who show up on October 15th ready to practice and prepare for the season it isn't fair to them to put them on hold for 12 football teams. It's fine how it is. Central, Owensboro, Bowling Green, Christian County and others have been able to navigate from football to basketball flawlessly. Folks can learn something from them.

Nice balance by GC with 5 kids in double figures.

How did Hubbert look?

Looked good. Very athletic and aggressive on the glass at both ends. Hit a few timely shots late and hit his FT's late as well.

Gonna have to be to replace the bigger Jackson. He is more of a guard though, correct?

Box Score of last nights game.
