What I will say is Pikeville is better than the last two teams Beechwood faced. If the same Beechwood team shows up that struggled to put away Russellville and Holy Cross, Pikeville will play with them and maybe even beat them.

 

If the Beechwood shows up who beat NewCath with Stringer toting the rock and letting Slusher do his thing, then Pikeville has a steep hill to climb.

^^ What about Pugh running the ball against Belfry? What happened at the line of scrimmage in that Belfry Pikeville game? How many carries and yards did Pugh have against Belfry?

Belfry dominated the line of scrimmage. Pugh gained about 80 yards on the night, and he earned them. Tough kid.

I certainly hope they are correct, but Pikeville's season long stats make that appear a formidable task. They had 22 interceptions, 6 pick-sixes and gave up only an average of 72 yards through the air per game. Suggests to me Pikeville may not be quite so vulnerable in the air. Love Fiedler's arm and decision making, but am concerned that Slusher's time at halfback will lessen the effectiveness of our strength (play action passing).

Noone has said they will be able to throw all night long...just that Pikeville has not really been tested by a passing team of Beechwood's caliber.

 

That is a huge mystery entering this game because we don't have anything to look at for a base line.

 

Hazard is probably the best passing team they faced.. Hazard didn't fare too well.... 16/36, 198 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT

 

How that translates to Beechwood? Won't know until Thursday

Kash Daniel is one fine athlete. Had he played against Pikeville, he would have made a difference, I'm sure. But NO, not a 19 point difference. The Panthers could have put up another six, or seven points in this game as they were driving the ball down field, but chose not to, and just took a knee. You got to remember too, Pikeville had Paintsville beat in the first game, but handed it to them. Pikeville has the weapons this year to win it all, and I believe they will. Jmo.

 

Easy to say but first off the TD before half probably wouldn't have existed with no one on the D touching the run up the middle plus I feel more forced turnovers! He does it on both sides of the ball! Paintsville woulda for certain had 1 to 2 more TD's theres 14/21 pt difference! Hate to get into this because the truth is With #15 fact is it a completely different game but Pikeville fans continue with this comment of "sure he woulda made a difference bit not a 19pt difference" yes he makes that much of a difference. Not just him scoring and stopping TD's but imagine 1hr before the game vs a Healthy Paintsville team and Pikeville finds out Pugh's dad wouldn't allow him to play! Talk about a lop sided win! Does either team have enough talent to overcome? Yes, but that's a huge blow mentally that your leader is NOT going into battle with you! So yes 1 player the caliber of Daniel or Pugh makes that big of a difference! Best thing is, Danile didn't play so we will never know so Pikeville needs fans need to focus more on BW and less on Kash by NOT making that big of a difference!

Your right about one thing Blue Bird. We'll never know. Everyone's got their opinion about things......you do . Pikeville fans do. If/when Pikeville wins this game, maybe things will be made more clear for you. Then you can let it go.

Not sure... have been wondering this myself... really crazy to think that basically you have 4 days of practice to prepare for a State Finals and a team you probably had not scouted much if any all season.
