Over hyped??

The only reason HC scored any points at all was because of a 20 yard punt from the back of the endzone by the back up punter giving HC great field position, then on the ensuing kickoff Beechwood fumbled in the endzone for the safety, that was in the first 5 minutes of the game. Beechwoods offense was hampered by 3 tournovers and the first full game played without Stringer. In my opinion playing on a field with VERY little grass was a huge cause for concern with the way Beechwood plays, if this game was played at Beechwood and even without Stringer it's a running clock early.

 

Russelville is a fantastic team, I didn't read any posts from known Beechwood fans that downplayed Russelville's abilities at all. The film I watched of them before the game proved to me that they are very fast and hard to stop, and they were, they also had athletes all over the defensive side of the ball and they still couldn't stop Beechwood.

 

No team that Pikeville has beaten this year in the regular season has won a single playoff game and Beechwood has beaten 3 teams that won multiple playoff games including NCC who beat powerhouse DeSales.

 

While pondering those facts I should only be concerned about the safety of everyone headed to Western Kentucky Thursday to see two great programs do battle but knowing the mindset of a mountain team it will be a tough hard fought game for Beechwood.

 

I just realized NCC didn't beat Desales, Mayfield did. ooops!

If I'm a Tiger, I'm a little concerned after the last couple of weeks.. LHC is an average 1a team, at best, and was in the game with the Tigers.. Russellville was a better team, but, as most of the Tiger fans pointed out before that game occurred, the only 2 decent teams that Russellville played, Murray and FSimpson, they were blown out, but, this same team played tough against the Tigers. Does that say more for Murray and FS or is Beechwood a little over hyped.. When I look at Pikeville, you see a team that would most likely have taken care of Beechwoods last 2 opponents much easier than they did. This Panther team is a much more complete team than either and can match up on the speed side.. Should the Beechies be concerned or do they feel they're the better team and should take care of business if they play a better than average game and don't turn it over..

 

Blah blah blah. You posted your long rant a couple of weeks ago about who was going to do what. Nobody cares then, nobody cares now. You were sure RVille was gonna beat BW. Didn't happen even with a starting LB in street clothes the entire game, and another going out early for rest of game. I watched on HUDL, the fact you ever picked that team to beat BW shows you are clueless. Had BW had their RB in this game they would have scored 50.

uk Fan, ATL, Ram. I have to thank you, you probably saved me some time and money. I was gonna go to the game but it sounds like Pikeville is gonna beat B-wood like a red headed step child. Lets compare, Pikeville's line; Strong fast ,hard no quit. B-woods line small, slow weak, and probably not very smart. Pikevilles QB. Tall, fast, lean, hard, rifle for an arm, and probably handsome! B-wood QB. Small, slow rubber band for an arm, lucky to get the ball to the line of scrimmage. Probably ugly too. But the final nail in B-woods coffin is the Pikeville running back. The most dangerous back in the history of class A football, B-wood probably couldn't stop him with Trinitys line. My God its gonna be horrible. Lets just give the trophy to Pikeville and save us all a lot of time and energy. By the way UK Fan, Simon Kenton was gonna win 6A. Did I miss something.

Now, back to the question, does Beechwood feel good about the way they're playing and feel confident going into the Pikeville game or are they somewhat concerned with the way they've played the past couple of weeks. Lol. There is not one person in this thread that I know of is a coach, a player, a cheerleader, or anything else connected to this team. I have no ties what so ever to the current team. How are we supposed to know how they feel, or are you one of those that thinks fans really make a difference? We don't. I will tell you this. BW has the best QB in 1A. They have IMO the best player in 1A. They have a great coaching staff that has put them in this position. Why wouldn't they feel great? There are 12 teams in the state still playing, and they are one of them. Exactly what else are you looking for? Ask a silly question.......

No reason either team or fan base shouldnt be proud of thier respective accomplishments. Its a long season full of ups and downs and unexpected advirsity. These two programs have made it through the gauntlet. The hope from here is that the weather is good and both teams remain as healthy as possible.

I believe the coaching staffs have mutual respect and have instilled this with the kids. With that being said....I think that Beechwoods senior class is on a mission. Most of them have seen playing time for four years now with the ultimate dissapointment at the end. They are hungry and eager to finish what they started as a freshman team. In the end... I think they prevail in a close game. Go TIGERS

Yep. Tigers wish they could play Male or BG instead, but they will just have to do their best vs this team. Hope they can hang.

Pikeville is a very strong 1A team. Just would liked to have seen their offense evolve some over the season. I know some will holler the change at QB has totally changed their offense but Pugh was handed the ball like 35 times in the first game against Paintsvilles and like 30 times this last game so kinda sounds the same. They need to rely on Pugh just not SO much! The kid throws well so if they actually go to that more I see them doing better in this game. Won't take long for BW to close off the middle and Pikeville QB won't have as much time to run around like last game. As long as Pikeville Gets rid of the ball quicker, doesn't allow BW D to pop the ball lose and they utilize Pugh less but at more opertune times and Pikville can take this game conviencly!
