What kind of socks do you wear?

Featured Replies

May sound like a weird question, but after going on a sock buying spree the past few weeks, it really isn't.

I have transitioned from the regular crew tube sock to a lower cut "footie" style sock. Well upon further investigation and buying different pairs, I have found there are 3-4 different level/cuts of footie sock, and I guess these can even vary themselves by manufacturer.

needin some more socks, a few weeks ago I went and got some "low cut" Joe Boxer socks. Found these would barely stay on my foot...I think they were labeled "no show". Don't like them, ride way too low on my foot and eventually slide off my heel and bunch up. Bought another pair of Joe Boxers, these were a higher cut...and though they do fit slightly higher up toward my ankle, the difference is so minimal I couldn't believe they actually produce a sock that has that little of a difference. I then bought a 3rd pack that I really like that come up to my ankle, but now can't find that style of Joe Boxer when I went back. All of these were in black. Then went and found some Russell socks that I like even better and seem to fit better, both black and white. They also have a style that sits lower, almost a "no show" but it fits much better than the comparable Joe Boxer and doesn't slid down my foot like they do.

Anyway, that's my recent sock buying experience. So, do you wear low cuts, crew, something in between, white, black?

Always footies unless I'm hooping, then I'll wear long tube socks.

Only time I wear white socks is if all my black ones are dirty.

Cant wear the little anklite socks, gotta have longer socks.

I have a plethora of socks. My fave to wear for comfort are a pair of Jordan socks, grey in color, large in comfort, ankle length

Wear a lot different ones.

Black or white low or no show

Playing sports wear a higher one.

Depends on what I'm wearing. If I'm wearing shorts, it's no show. If I'm wearing long pants, it's always higher socks. Black for low/no show. Long socks are almost always dress.

Mostly really low or no show. Generally speaking I like the quality of Under Armour. I have noticed with some other brands they seem to vary in quality too much for my tastes.

Varies. Have some ankle length socks for golfing in shorts or just wearing around with shorts.

Some white tube socks for wearing around casually when it's colder out.

Usually wear some kind of dress sock or sock with some color to it when wearing jeans or khakis or something like that.

I wear nothing but gold toes (especially when tricycling around Lake Cumberland :lol2:). White crews with shorts and black for everything else........and yes, I'm old school. Have even thought of trying to find the old fat striped tubes to wear now and again.

I usually do footie socks, but also love me some wool ones for those cold days.

Footie/Ankle socks or whatever they are called. Prefer to wear black, unless they are dirty.

Obviously dress socks when I'm wearing slacks or a suit.

Just bought some Under Armour socks about 2 months ago. I liked them so much just bought some more.
