I still say, Hue has to forcefully suggest they run the ball in that situation. It's easier for coaches and even easier for fans at home to feel that way... Not so easy for players in the heat of the game with all the adrenaline going and all. I didn't read it as "Andy didn't play well." November 23, 201510 yr Been said but in this order; 1) Penalties on the road very difficult to overcome against quality team 2) Awful clock management. I blame AD, run it. I blame the 2nd down call that was worse. An out for no 1st down and go out of bounds. Play call, I guess on that one. 3) Last week offense, this week defense sucked. 4) What is up with this 3rd quarter stuff. We more often than not are awful in that quarter. 5) O-line was pretty weak all night. 6) I really felt the Bengals were the better team, but could not get out of their own way. 7) Loss not devastating, I believe they will go 5-1 the rest of the way. Your 4th point is key.. The 3rd quarter killed them on both sides of the ball... That points to coaches not being prepared for the other team's halftime adjustments... Or players not executing what they're suppose to. Either way 3rd qtr has been suspect in most of their games. Also, is Huber hurt? His punting has been off lately IMO.

I agree it was a bad choice and heck it was even a bad throw...prob should've been picked... But, why is Andy hit with this "reputation"? Where are the stories on Ryan, Cutler and even Rivers? That's right, I said it... Phillip Rivers continually plays selfishly throwing 50 to 60 times a game it seems and he gets a pass by the media. All 3 of those QB's have had a much more provable history of bad decision making IMO... And that's just 3 QB's off the top of my head. That's my only problem. I didn't like the decision or the execution of it. So what? It was one play and I still say that Marvin and Hue should've made it clear..run the ball there!

One thing we both know, he will have helped get the Bengals to more playoff games than any other QB in their history... And that is pretty cool. Any problems with Anderson... I liked him a lot. Even think he deserves HOF consideration... Still he had only one season when he won 2 playoff games to get to the SuperBowl. He was 0-4 in the others. Doesn't change the fact he was a good QB. Andy is a good QB... Time will tell if that's all. Good or can the team win a few post season games and get him into the "great" conversation... Do you suggest we give McCarron a shot in the playoffs this year? Lol. Won't happen an shouldn't unless Dalton gets injured.

I know in 06 and 07 they were in the 20's and stuff... Point is, when your D isn't that good you can't turn it over like he was doing in the first half last night and he did that all too often in Cincy.

The most important number , points allowed is very similar... And the Bengals created more turnovers on average and scored more defensive points when Palmer was here... Here's the numbers of points allowed: '04 - 372 '05 - 350 '06 - 331 '07 - 385 '08 - 364 '09 - 291 '10 - 395 That's an average of 355 points allowed total and an average of 22.18 points per game '11 - 323 '12 - 320 '13 - 305 '14 - 344 '15 - in progress That's an average of 323 total points allowed and an average of 20.18 points per game. So, yeah you can argue that Palmer's defenses gave up 2 more points per game, but that also caused more turnovers and were more opportunistic in scoring on defense... So, yards allowed as defenses are ranked don't really tell the whole story... When you look at points allowed and turnovers, etc. it's a wash.
