All State Baseball Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 After starting the season 4-1 or 5-1, they have dropped 6 straight, including a bad loss to Vanderbilt. So What comes first? 1. Stoops gets 1 more year and Kentucky football shows improvement? 2. DJ Eliot and Shannon Dawson get fired? 3. Kentucky loses the remaining two games and the fans start boycotting games like they did Joker, causing Stoops job to be in jeopardy if it isn't already?
jlow Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 1st- beat Charlotte, 2nd-- Stoops needs to quit doing interviews(makes himself look bad), 3rd--AD will come out in support of Stoops, 4th Cats will lose to UL (Petrino will get a new contract), and finally 8 days later all but 50 avid fb guys everyone else will turn to UK basketball.........He will get 1 more year.......
TheDeuce Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Mark Stoops is not losing his job this year. They could lose to Charlotte and get blown out by Louisville and he still wouldn't.
fan4nascar Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 He gets another year, hopefully they show improvement.

How about starting the tailgate at midnight on game day?

Disagree on the AD coming out. That's usually the kiss of death. Stoops isn't going anywhere.
NKY Bandit Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Stoops gets at least one more year. He's recruited much better than Joker. Not sure that he's got all the athletes he needs to be competitive but those Coordinators have to feel their seats getting warmer by the week (especially Dawson's).

It will be interesting to see/hear either through his own volition or with a push from above if Stoops looks to make coordinator changes. Not sure of their contract situations.
thehotsnakes Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I tend to think that it will take some forcing to get Eliot fired. Stoops brought him with him to UK. That really says a lot about their friendship. When there have been other chances for Stoops to bring in other people he's worked with, he hasn't. I think everybody gets another year. If there are flashes next year, but ultimately the same end result, new coordinators. If things get worse next year, they're all gone.
Jumper_Dad Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I know it's popular to bang on Dawson, but there is a much bigger issue with execution than play calling. Is play calling perfect, no...but execution has been hit and miss at best. That lays at the feet of the position coaches as much as anyone. WR execution or lack there of has killed team in crucial points all season. 3 dropped TD's on the opening drives of games this season, Disinterest in blocking at times by WRs and lack of fighting through defenders to get balls...those are some of the killers this season. O-Line went from playing really good early in the season to where they now look like a 5 little rocks trying to stop a river. Defense has for the most part played well enough for Kentucky to win against Florida, Georgia and Vanderbilt. Yeah they got blew up a couple of games but they have kept UK in at least 3 losses close enough to have a chance to win. Patrick played not to lose the last few weeks instead of playing to win as soon as something went wrong. That's my 2 cents
All State Baseball Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 Need special teams coordinator, this "Winging it" just isn't working...Fair catches...
THE SHERIFF Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 The major concern for me is the lack of organization, there are times late in games when players and coaches seem terribly confused! That is unacceptable!
THE SHERIFF Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Stoops probably gets two more years, coordinators could be in trouble if they lose to UL!
